Overview and Introduction
Assetto Corsa Rally is a rally simulation video game developed by Italian developer Supernova Games Studios with technical support from Kunos Simulazioni, and published by 505 Games. Marking the franchise's first dedicated off-road discipline, the title launched globally in Early Access on Windows PC on November 13, 2025.
It is the fourth installment in the Assetto Corsa series and the first not led primarily by Kunos Simulazioni, whose internal team focused resources on Assetto Corsa EVO. Powered by a customized build of Unreal Engine 5 running alongside a specialized evolution of the Assetto Corsa handling model, the simulator replicates the high-stakes discipline of point-to-point stage rallying across real-world roads.
- Core Pillars of Assetto Corsa Rally:
- Simulation Heritage: Built on Assetto Corsa's acclaimed tyre and chassis physics, specifically adapted by Supernova for gravel, loose dirt, tarmac, ice, and snow.
- Precision Laser-Scanned Stages: Features laser-scanned real-world rally roads designed to reproduce road contours, elevation changes, and surface characteristics.
- Multi-Era Vehicle Roster: Features officially licensed machinery across Front-Wheel Drive (FWD), Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configurations.
- Co-Driver Pace Notes: Incorporates professional pacenotes developed and voiced in collaboration with active rally co-drivers.
Top 3 Reasons to Play Assetto Corsa Rally
Assetto Corsa Rally brings uncompromising, hardcore physics simulation to modern rally gaming.
- Authentic Multi-Surface Physics: Experience a granular tyre-contact model that calculates grip thresholds across shifting road surfaces, temperature curves, and loose gravel accumulation.
- Laser-Scanned Point-to-Point Stages: Tackle unforgiving real-world stages where every roadside ditch, elevation change, and tarmac crest matches its real-world counterpart.
- Online and Solo: Progress through rotating rally events, test setups in Free Practice, or compete in 16-player online lobbies and private multiplayer sessions.
Locations, Stages, and Environmental Realism
Every stage in Assetto Corsa Rally is designed to test technical driving discipline under unpredictable surface conditions.
Official Stage Locations
- Rally Alsace (France): Narrow, high-speed asphalt stages through vineyards and mountain roads, including the Munster and Saverne tests.
- Rally Wales (United Kingdom): Technical gravel tracks through dense forestry featuring the Hafren South and Hafren North routes.
- Rally Monte Carlo (Monaco / France): Treacherous alpine passes featuring mixed conditions of dry tarmac, black ice, and snow along the Col de Turini and Sisteron stages.
- Livigno Ice Circuit (Italy): A specialized snow and ice test track (Ghiacciodromo Livigno) designed for low-grip handling practice using studded tyres.
- Rally Greece: Rugged, rocky gravel routes with high elevation changes and punishing surface attrition introduced in major Early Access milestones.
Gameplay, Mechanics, and Vehicles
The simulator is built around realistic vehicle dynamics, demanding precise steering, weight transfer management, and mechanical awareness.
Driving Mechanics and Damage
- Drivetrain Dynamics: Delivers distinct handling characteristics across lightweight historic RWD models, classic Group B turbo AWD machines, 2000s WRC icons, and contemporary Rally2 customer cars.
- Surface Grip & Weather: Surface grip values dynamically adjust based on weather transitions, time of day, and surface degradation.
- Physical Damage System: Features visual vehicle damage and physical effects that can influence handling, adding another layer of realism to the rally simulation.
- Multiplayer Lobbies: Supports live single-stage multiplayer sessions for up to 16 drivers, complete with private custom lobbies and spectator modes.
