Computer software is a set of instructions that can be used to direct a computer's operations and ultimately automate certain processes. Unlike computer hardware, which is tangible, software exists only in the form of files within the computer's memory. The software can take many forms, including applications, operating systems that manage the data flow throughout a device, and programs designed for specific tasks.

Computer software is essential to anyone who uses a computer. Specialists require professional tools to do their work. On the other hand, people utilizing a desktop or laptop to casually play video games or watch movies need at least an operating system and programs that protect their safety and keep their PC in perfect condition.

As you can see, software is the driving force behind all digital devices. Without software, a computer would just be a cold and lifeless device that can do nothing without instructions. By providing instructions to the hardware, the software makes it possible for us to perform countless tasks on our computers.

Software differs from hardware in its ability to be updated or replaced with new versions; because it exists as digital information, it can simply be deleted and rewritten with newer code as needed. • Antivirus software. The purpose of antivirus software is to protect devices from dangerous viruses, malware, and anything else that can harm them. Popular antivirus software includes Norton Security, McAfee Total Protection, and Kaspersky Internet Security.
• VPN. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a service that secures your connection to the internet. It encrypts all the data that goes through it and hides your IP address from any potential threats. Popular VPN services include KeepSolid VPN, NordVPN, and Atlas VPN.
