GTA returns
Grand Theft Auto VI is the long-awaited sequel to GTA V, one of the best-selling and most popular video games ever released. The new installment in the Rockstar Games flagship franchise is set in the Florida-inspired state of Leonida. As a result, players will explore sunny beaches, swamps populated by alligators, and the colorful Vice City, the GTA version of Miami.
Gameplay
The details haven't been disclosed yet, but the GTA 6 trailer, which was released on December 5, revealed that players will follow the story of Lucia and her partner in crime. Rockstar Games promises next-level world experiences driven by an immersive story. Consequently, players may expect high-octane actions and thrilling heists in visually polished locations, including the neon-glowing Vice City.
Release date and platforms
While the game was originally announced in December 2023 with a broad 2025 release window, later narrowed down to Fall 2025, internal adjustments led to two subsequent delays. The launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S was first pushed to May 2026, before finally shifting to its definitive release date: November 19, 2026. For fans eager to secure their copy, official digital and physical pre-orders worldwide opened on June 25, 2026.
There is still no official confirmation regarding a day-one PC version. Following Rockstar’s traditional release pattern, as seen with GTA 4, GTA 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2, PC players will likely have to wait a few months to a year after the console launch to explore Leonida.
