Historical thriller about the end of the samurai era

The historical action-adventure thriller Like a Dragon: Ishin is set in 1860s Kyo, a made-up version of Kyoto. Ishin allows you to experience the history of how the renowned samurai age ended, in contrast to other games that focus on earlier periods in Japanese history - such as Yakuza 3, Yakuza Kiwami, or Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The overthrow of the shogunate and the beginning of radical reform in Japan are widely attributed to our hero, Sakamoto Ryoma, a real historical character.

Battle styles in Like the Dragon: Ishin

Aim to become the strongest person in the Bakumantsu era with your own, original fighting style!

Cut, shoot, dance, punch as one of the four battle styles in the thrilling and dynamic combat that is a true testament to the intense bakumatsu period:

• Swordsman - use your sword, samurai spirit, and rigorous training to unleash devastating assaults that can finish off opponents in a single blow.
• Gunman - Use a revolver, a Sakamoto Ryoma emblem, to dispatch your opponents quickly and from a distance.
• Wild Dancer - Ryoma goes on a rampage that defies martial arts rules while wielding a sword in his right hand and a gun in his left.
• Brawler - With your bare fits, pummel foes. Brawling enhances your body, which is the foundation of all martial arts.

Kazuma Kiryu is back

Like a Dragon: Ishin enrolls well-known characters to narrate this grand historical story. Fans of the franchise will recognize our lead character as Kazuma Kiryu from previous installments. Kiryu, who plays Sakamoto Ryoma in Ishin, also takes the rest of his crew with him. In this imaginary world where the tumultuous bustle of 1860s Kyo replaces the glitzy streets of Tokyo, Goro Majima and other Yakuza stars join Ryoma as allies and rivals. With a series of mind-blowing twists and spins, these new story dynamics are as spectacular as they are surprising, telling a tale that only RGG studio can deliver.

Like the Dragon: Ishin! - key features:

• A tale about end of samurai,
• spin-off from Yakuza series,
