Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture is an artistic adventure game created by The Chinese Room. The player finds themself in a cozy village Yaughton in Shropshire in the ‘80s. With beautiful weather and charming landscapes, it seems like a perfect summer day… Except for one thing – there’s not a living soul here.
With random things scattered all over the place, it’s not hard to discover that people left this place in a hurry. The only question is – why. Now your task is to reveal the truth behind the recent end of the world. Will you be able to collect some clues? Maybe it’s a good idea to check if any electronic devices are still working?
Soon enough, you’ll start noticing some mysterious lights appearing in random places. If you follow them, you’ll be able to unlock short cutscenes, showing the inhabitant’s life before the end of the world. The more hidden pieces of information you’ll collect, the closer you’ll get to unravelling the mystery.
The main advantage of Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture’s scenery is its reality. The game was created with CryEngine, and the beauty of the surroundings is sometimes difficult to separate from the real world. Take advantage of non-linear gameplay and let yourself wander around Yaughton for a while.
