The player takes control of Theodore J. Conrad, the heroic engineer on the spaceship Leopold, which has collided with a mysterious ghost ship after dropping out of hyperspace. If you're old enough to be the President of the United States then you may remember a 1990 PC game called Alien Breed. A top-down shooter that liberally borrowed from games like Alien Syndrome and movies like Aliens, Alien Breed is the other title Worms developer Team17 is known for. Well, it's back and looking better than eveAlien Breed Trilogy is a straightforward sci-fi game with satisfying shooting mechanics and some impressive visuals. It borrows ideas from all over the place but the interactivity of videogames always seems to make blatant imitation easier to swallow than it is in other mediums. Anyone who played the original Alien Breed back in the day will find their simple top-down shooter is all grown up with great lighting effects, an atmospheric soundtrack, and affecting cinematic events.
