In "A Guidebook of Babel," players embark on a unique plot adventure where the concept of the butterfly effect plays a central role. This power is represented by a magical pen that you receive, allowing you to shape the narrative and influence the outcome of your journey. To assist you in navigating the mysteries of Babel, you are provided with a guidebook - a valuable companion that offers insights and information about your surroundings. This guidebook will prove essential as you explore the ship and encounter various characters and scenarios. Before fully immersing yourself in this surreal adventure, the crew of Babel will discharge your memories, providing a fresh start on your journey. Additionally, they will power up the Giant Boiler, preparing the ship for departure and setting the stage for the unfolding events.

Butterfly Effect mechanic

As the protagonist, you possess the ability to rewind and fast forward time, allowing you to revisit pivotal moments and rewrite the story according to your choices. The power to manipulate time carries great responsibility, as even the smallest alteration can have profound and unpredictable consequences. The butterfly effect becomes a significant factor, as a single decision can create a ripple effect that reshapes the entire future. As you navigate the twists and turns of the story, you may question who truly holds the power to shape the narrative - the protagonist or the mysterious voice guiding the journey. It becomes a captivating exploration of authorship and the nature of storytelling itself. Ultimately, the story unfolds as you make choices and determine the direction of your journey. The consequences of your actions are yours to bear, and it is through your decisions that the true nature of the tale will be revealed.
