Third season, first time on PC. That's the short version of what changed for EA SPORTS College Football 27. Electronic Arts released it worldwide on July 9, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and, for the first time in the franchise's modern run, PC via Steam, the EA App, and Epic Games Store. Developed by EA Tiburon, the game covers 138 FBS programs, including North Dakota State and Sacramento State joining the roster as new FBS members, and runs them through Dynasty, Road to Glory, College Football Ultimate Team, and several faster arcade-style modes.

- First time a PC release - Dynasty, Road to Glory, and College Football Ultimate Team have never run on PC before this entry. EA's own PC documentation states the version is functionally identical to console, not a scaled-down port, and it supports cross-play with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in Dynasty (Online Dynasty), Road to the College Football Playoff, Ultimate Team, and Play a Friend modes. The one exception: the Ultimate Team Auction House stays separate per platform, so trading is still walled off by system.
- Dynasty blueprint changes how programs get built - The new Dynasty Blueprint ties program management to Athletic Director expectations, and meeting them earns Dynasty Points that get spent across NIL, recruiting, staff, and facility upgrades. An upgraded Coaching Carousel, dynamic weather, weekly recaps, and a fully animated Heisman ceremony round out the season-to-season presentation.
- Road to glory opens up new positions - Player-career mode adds Tight End, Edge Rusher, and Safety to the buildable position list, on top of new customization options, legend templates, and "cap breakers" for pushing a created player past normal ratings limits. Progress ties into NIL deals, Draft Stock, and a Legacy Score that tracks the whole career arc from recruit to (potential) NFL prospect.
Gameplay and Modes
On-field adjustments got a real pass this year: EA reworked offensive and defensive pre-snap options, and outlets covering the launch build reported over 1,500 new plays added to the playbook. Some reviewers also noted that the amount of off-field menus, stat screens, and program-management data has grown alongside the on-field polish, so the learning curve isn't purely about football anymore.

Editions and Platforms
Three purchasable tiers exist at launch. The Standard Edition is the full base game with all 138 FBS teams. Deluxe adds 4,600 College Football Points, an exclusive early-access challenge, and bonus Dynasty and Road to Glory currency; its cover adds Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti alongside USC's Jayden Maiava, Notre Dame's Leonard Moore, and Texas's Colin Simmons. The MVP Bundle pairs College Football 27 with the Deluxe Edition of Madden NFL 27 and shared cross-game content. A separate Kickoff Bundle pairs the Standard Editions of both games without the Madden Deluxe upgrade.
