Only a scientific crew of altered Jan Scientists, with their perfectly aligned minds, can offer the expertise needed to unravel the phenomenon of the Oasis. Studying nature's survival here in space is a life-defining opportunity. However, the flawless, goal-oriented plan of the Jan Scientists might not be so apparent to Jan Geologist, Biologist, Chemist, or Physicist.

The Oasis, a lush paradise that shouldn't exist, becomes the mystery Jan obsessively tries to solve. Terraforming the map’s nine arenas is the key to unlocking it, forcing the landscape to yield its answers. But with each seemingly right step on a research path, the planet seems to respond with more implacable earthquakes and radiation, as some secrets would lie ahead that we shouldn’t discover.

The Alters is a game from 11 Bit Studio, the developer behind the highly praised This War of Mine and Frostpunk. Their successor combines elements from many genres, including adventure games, base builders, and survival games. It will provide players with diverse gameplay.

Meet the Alters

Follow Jan Dolski, a worker sent to a remote planet. Unfortunately, the mission goes awry from the very beginning. After a fatal crash landing, the protagonist loses his colleagues. Now, he must make the space station run to avoid deadly rays and figure out how to return home. He can't do it on his own. But there's a solution! Jan can clone himself, thus gaining the necessary help. However, other Jans are not carbon copies of him. Those alternate Dolskis, known as the alters, are his forms from realities where he has made different life-changing decisions. Therefore, they have other skills and personalities. They will provide you with the abilities necessary to survive and escape. Moreover, you will get to know them better and develop relationships.
