I found the single player campaign of Archangel very satisfying. Althought the gameplay seems simple at first, since you only have to target enemies with your motion controllers to shoot them and raise a shield by the press of a button. What makes it interesting nontheless is the fact that you have to be tactical about it. When you have your shields up, you cannot fire your cannon and vice versa. And of course your shields don't hold that long before they need to recharge. The same goes for your guns and rocket launchers, since they need to be reloaded. To make things more interesting they even implemented active reloading, remenicent of Gears of War's mechanic. Thus, you can reload faster when you press the reload button again at the right time. All these factors make each skirmish with the enemy a thrilling exercises of your reflexes. Apart from all that, the game has pretty high production values for one of the early VR games. If you like reflex-heavy gameplay then go for it!
