You go out on a single-player quest in a flooded world where you must fight to survive, but you will never be by yourself. Through the echoes of those who came before you, you will always sense the presence of other Tidewalkers. You can experience the effects of past players' decisions and make a lasting impression on upcoming players with the "Online Story-Link" feature. In order to repair or further demolish a globe afflicted by an illness that is wreaking havoc on the ocean planet, players first choose the Story-Link of a friend, favorite streamer, DigixArt staff member, or stranger.

As a Tidewalker, you will discover an alien environment that, depending on the Story-Link you select, will appear, feel, and behave differently. You must prepare yourself to deal with the many difficulties of a planet on the verge of collapse as a fatal illness known as plastemia threatens to wipe out all life. Discover a diverse cast of individuals and opposing groups, including the Mystics, an enigmatic society that worships the past, common survivors known as Reclaimers, and merciless Marauders who control trade and medicine.
