A new version of the groundbreaking hit

System Shock is a game that revolutionized video game design when it originally came out in 1994. Now, thanks to the developers from Nightdive Studios, a new generation of players can take a dive into this compelling story. Like its predecessor, the System Shock remake is an action-adventure game with first-person perspective combat. You assume the role of a hacker who must shut down an evil AI called SHODAN. Your mission will be crucial for the whole human race because the rogue artificial intelligence has already taken over Citadel Station and now plans to conquer Earth.

Something old, something new

The creators of the original System Shock were involved in the development of the new version. As a result, the remake remains faithful to the 1994 cult classic. Players have a chance to experience the same plot, use the same weapons, and face the same enemies that mesmerized gamers and critics back in the day. System Shock offers exciting combat and a vast arsenal of futuristic weapons that help you overcome hordes of mutants and cyborgs controlled by SHODAN. Additionally, you will have a chance to explore cyberspace and find an alternative way of progressing in the game. Moreover, Terri Brosius, the original voice of SHODAN, returns in the remake.

Despite preserving the original game's spirit, the new System Shock offers multiple improvements. You can enjoy modern HD visuals, music, and sound. It also provides gameplay enhancements, better level design, and plot hole fixes.

The release

Nightdive Studios originally planned to release System Shock in 2017. Unfortunately, the developers had to postpone the premiere multiple times. The final date of the System Shock remake's release was set for May 30, 2023.
