Syberia: The World Before is the fourth installment to the well-received series of puzzle games. Once again, you’ll have an opportunity to live the adventures of Kate Walker who embarks on a new journey. This time, you’ll also play as Dana Roza, a 17-year-old promising pianist living in the times of World War II.
The action takes place in two different historical periods. In 2004, your task will be to discover the true identity of Kate Walker, known from the previous Syberia games. She will have to escape the Siberian salt mine, where she is imprisoned. And in 1937, you’ll experience the dangers of fascism as Dana Roza. Both protagonists have a thing in common - they have to reveal some mysteries from long ago.
Same as the other games from this series, Syberia: The World Before offers you engaging adventure gameplay. With a variety of locations to explore, dialogues, collectibles, and puzzles, there is no place for boredom. The main advantage of the game is once again a plethora of different puzzles and riddles. Many of them involve impressive automatons.
Microids headed by Benoit Sokal continued the story of Syberia, but if you haven’t played the previous titles, you will enjoy this adventure anyway. The symphonic soundtrack composed by Inon Zur brings the story to life and guarantees an immersive experience. With a captivating story and gripping dialogues, this game is so much more than just puzzles.
