The Street Fighter franchise

Street Fighter is one of the most significant video games series. Even though its first installment wasn't particularly successful, Capcom decided to release a sequel. This was a brilliant decision! Street Fighter II was released in 1991 and took amusement arcades by storm. Players fell in love with colorful, diverse characters and entertaining gameplay. Many companies tried to copy Capcom's success, thus making fighting games one of the most popular genres. Some of the Street Fighter warriors, such as Ryu and Chun-Li, are among the most iconic video games characters. 

After Street Fighter II's tremendous success, Capcom has released numerous sequels and enhanced versions. Recently announced Street Fighter VI will be the newest installment in this long-running series.

We don't know much about the game because it is still under development. In the Street Fighter VI teaser trailer, we can see Ryu and Luke. The latter was the last DLC character added to Street Fighter V, and many fans guessed that he would play a pivotal role in the future Street Fighter title. As for Ryu, he has been one of the most significant warriors since the dawn of the franchise; hence, his return is not surprising. However, now he wears shoes, which is kinda new.

Street Fighter VI release date

Capcom officially announced the game, and the release date of Street Fighter VI is the 2nd of June 2023. The newest installment of the renowned franchise will be available to play on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series platforms.
