Allies who have become adversaries play a key role in the important Steel Division 2: Blood Feud in Transylvania DLC, shedding light on an underappreciated battle between Axis Hungary and recently switched Allied Romania. Transylvania is where this long-running feud began. Until 1944, Axis Hungary and Romania were hesitant partners under Nazi Germany's watchful eye. This icy alliance crumbled with the overwhelming Soviet invasion of Romania that summer, resulting in Romania's quick shift to the Allied side. The Battle of Turda takes place in September 1944 and is a bloody battle on both sides.

Hungary, eager to reclaim much-desired Transylvania, moves quickly to invade their erstwhile comrade-in-arms' eastern provinces. In turn, the desperate Romanian defenders battle tooth and nail on the Turda River, desperately buying time for reinforcements, notably Soviet soldiers, to arrive. Steel Division 2: Blood Feud in Transylvania adds a new Army General campaign, dozens of new troops, two new Aces, and six new playable Divisions, including two Axis Hungarian Divisions and one German Division, as well as three Allied Romanian Divisions.
