Papers, Please and SCP paranoia served as inspiration for Security 51, an atmospheric horror security guard simulator. The most hazardous portion of working at Area 51's underground bunker starts at the elevator, which drops for miles to unknown levels. You're not meant to know about labs, abnormalities, cruel experiments, or extraterrestrial life. Even if everything appears "right" on the surface, your job is straightforward: let in those who have access and stop those who don't.

Paperwork, passes, or verbal commands are carried by each person passing by your checkpoint. It is your responsibility to verify the number of individuals entering and departing matches, as well as names, positions, clearance levels, and time, and to keep an eye out for any irregularities. These could include inaccurate responses, unconventional behavior, slurred speech, or even documents that appear overly flawless. Over time, you'll find yourself thinking more and more that something is amiss and that the protocols are the only thing you can rely on. However, even they might be mistaken.
