This is the first of three DLCs that show the entire Second World War from the viewpoint of the Soviet Union. Players will be moved to Europe in 1939, beginning with the battle against Imperial Japan. The Red Army battles of 1938–1941 are covered by Red Star. The Battle of Lake Khasan, which took place from July 29 to August 11, 1938, and involved the Japanese military's effort to invade Soviet-claimed territory from Manchukuo, is where the game begins. The fight of Khalkhin Gol, the pivotal engagement of the unofficial Soviet-Japanese Border War, follows. Expel the Japanese from Mongolia and repel them!
