About the base game:

The game blends shooter with features from metroidvania and action-adventure, making an exploding cocktail. When an extraterrestrial mafia invades Earth to utilize humans as a narcotic, your quest starts. To locate and take out the cartel lords, you must go to the furthest reaches of the cosmos. You'll run into a ton of bizarre individuals and go to a variety of places, such as cities, asteroids, and jungles, on your quest.

The fate of the human race is at risk; thus, the stakes cannot be higher. Furthermore, a legion of dangerous enemies will try to prevent you from achieving your noble goal. Thankfully, you're not on this quest by yourself. However, given that the main character is armed with a gang of talking weapons called Gatlians, your party is fairly unique. They each have special abilities that you may use to put your foes to rest and solve puzzles to unlock new places.
