Years before Europe went to war, Japan’s imperial ambitions targeted the divided Chinese Republic. Crippled by political paralysis and centuries of fitful development, China is still not a pushover. With vast reserves of manpower and resources, not to mention a giant landmass, the Republic of China and its temporary ally, the Communists under Mao, can withstand another aggressor. There have been, after all, very many.
Waking the Tiger is the newest expansion for Paradox Development Studio’s celebrated World War II strategy wargame, Hearts of Iron IV. This expansion adds new gameplay options for all players, and has a special focus on the Asian front of the deadliest war in human history.

Arguably one the best games released in 2017. Hearts of Iron IV is a greatly stream lined and updated version of its predecessors. However dont be fooled, this still remains a deeply complicated game for new commers who will find HoI4 a daunting prospect, once the basics are learned you can will get lost in this game for many hours. You can take any nation you wish of the WW2 era and embark on any journey you desire, whether that be historical or ahistorical. Command the the third reich and change the course of history by defeating the allied powers or take the reigns of the mighty USSR and fight the Great Patriotic War. The possibilities are endless. Throw in a fantastic modding community and in particlar the mod, Kaiserreich and discover an alternate unvierse with premise that the Central Powers won WW1.
