Grand Theft Auto, widely known as GTA, is one of the best-renowned video games series of all time. The first installment in the series was developed in 1997 by DMA Design. The studio changed its name in 2001 to Rockstar North because it became a part of the Rockstar Games label.

Looking at the earliest GTA games shows how the series has evolved. It started with the top-down view and featured some rather unsophisticated mechanics. However, those early installments established some essential Grand Theft Auto features, such as playing the role of a criminal and fictional cities based on real USA metropolises like Los Angeles (Los Santos), Liberty City (New York City), San Francisco (San Andreas). The franchise got a significant boost in 2001 thanks to the release of Grand Theft Auto III. Since then, GTA has offered 3D graphics and immersive gameplay. Next sequels have solidified Rockstar hit franchise as one of the most popular video game series. Especially GTA V became a massive success praised by both players and critics. It sold more than 130 million copies. The game was released in 2013, so it's not surprising that everyone's waiting for its successor.

Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) will be the next installment in the series. We may be sure that the game will offer a vast open world based on one of the big cities in the USA. According to rumors, the game will be set in the present to avoid restraints that would be caused by choosing one of the previous decades. It was also said that GTA 6 will have more than one protagonist, just like GTA V had. A female hacker is supposed to be one of the playable characters. The new gang will probably be equally enjoyable as Trevor, Michael, and Franklin.

Moreover, Grand Theft Auto VI is being developed after the release of 9th generation consoles. Therefore, we're sure that it will provide players with photorealistic graphics and breathtaking features, including ray tracing.
