A Mystery in a City on the Edge

Step into the strange and unpredictable world of Esoteric Ebb, an isometric narrative RPG inspired by classic tabletop adventures and modern story-driven CRPGs. Set in a bizarre post-Arcanepunk fantasy metropolis, the game blends deep role-playing, branching dialogue, and dice-driven mechanics into a chaotic, choice-heavy experience.

You play The Cleric - an expert in esoteric incidents and a somewhat questionable government operative. With only your unstable mind, unreliable abilities, and the roll of the dice to guide you, you'll navigate conspiracies, supernatural mysteries, and political chaos in the city of Norvik.

Five days before the city’s first-ever election, a quiet tea shop explodes in the center of town. You’re sent to investigate… only to wake up in a morgue surrounded by corpses, rotten apples, and a zombie.

With no backup and very few answers, you must explore Norvik’s streets, towers, and underground tunnels to uncover a mystery nobody wants solved. Balance rival factions, interrogate bizarre citizens, and navigate a world where mythological creatures run businesses and forgotten gods whisper through politics.

Deep Choices & Branching Storylines

Every decision matters. Form alliances, betray factions, solve quests creatively, or stumble your way into power. Your choices ripple throughout the city, shaping both your story and Norvik’s fate.

Inspired by tabletop RPG systems, many actions are determined by dice rolls. Wrestle dwarves, steal anything in sight, or try to avoid embarrassing yourself - success and failure both lead to unexpected outcomes.

Your Ability Stats have personalities - and they constantly interrupt conversations with their own opinions. Logic, instinct, and emotion compete for control, leading to absurd debates inside your mind that influence how quests unfold.
