A significant amount of radioactive isotopes were released into the atmosphere following the explosion and devastation of reactor number 4 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Liquidator squads were dispatched to take on this terrible, unseen foe. Despite not being heroes, they were called upon to carry out heroic actions. Many of them made the ultimate sacrifice of their own health, even their lives.
