The well-known FPS series goes to the near future with Battlefield 2042. The franchise started in 2002, and since then, it has let players fight in fictional wars and real conflicts, including Vietnam War and World Wars. Over the years, Battlefield has grown to be one of the most significant IPs in the EA portfolio.

Welcome to the year 2042

Battlefield 2042's action takes place in the year 2042 and depicts the fictitious conflict between the US and Russia. A string of disasters, such as the Second Great Depression and the worst hurricane in history, have formed this dystopian future.

The game provides a new Specialist system. There are ten Specialists in Battlefield 2042, each with a distinct background and set of skills. Use their abilities and a futuristic arsenal stocked with potent weapons and deadly equipment. There's also a vast range of vehicles, including aircraft like jets, and helicopters.

Giant battleground

The multiplayer component of Battlefield 2042 is the primary emphasis. Seven huge and diverse maps can hold up to 128 (PS5) or 64 (PS4) players each. You may also play with your friends that use different platforms. The Battlefield 2042 crossplay has two branches: the PS4 and Xbox One and the PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

In Battlefield 2042, you'll have to contend with threats besides your enemies. You'll encounter dynamic weather when the battleground is covered in a fierce storm. Additionally, soldiers need to be aware of environmental risks and shifting conditions. Sandstorms restrict visibility, and tornadoes may toss vehicles, aircraft, and even video players themselves. As a result, you need to prepare for much more than just shooting.

There are three editions of Battlefield 2042 for PlayStation consoles: Standard, Gold, and Ultimate.
