Take command of an army that is transferred across numerous large-scale strategic maps from mission to mission. Make choices regarding the positioning of your units, your war strategy, and your ability to not only survive but also rise to the position of resistance leader against the robots. Practice and gain military competence by practicing and getting the greatest results. In the single-player campaign, you lead your army as a commander in the Founders, a force composed of the surviving members of the US military, and try to thwart Legion's scheme to wipe out the last pockets of mankind. Play as the Founders, Movement, and Legion, three incredibly different factions in the multiplayer and skirmish modes.

Play challenging, realistic fights where the outcome of your tactical choices will determine whether you survive or not. Utilize a range of military vehicles, tools, and ammo types when engaging in combat with the opposition. To maintain the resistance, enlist and train new troops, assign new tasks, and purchase fresh arms and gear.
