Reviews
- Pros:
+ Graphics are still good for a 2013 game
+ Battlefields are well made with some love for details
+ Unit detail is okay and the animations are good (Blood DLC gives you some gore)
+ Huge map
+ Wonders and important resources
+ War Elephants!
+ Seasons
+ Revolts!
+ Over 100 factions
+ Armies can level up in addition to the generals
+ Good weather effects
+ Religion and diplomacy
+ Huge battles
+ Great sound, ambient music = great feeling
+ High replay ability
+ More than one campaign besides the main one
+ A few historic battles
+ Multiplayer Co-Op or Versus
+ Mods for every taste

Cons:
- The AI is sometimes game breaking bad. It is passive and has a bad pathfinding. Simply, it has often no strategy... [mods could help out]
- Sieges are not bad but the town designs repeat themselves often...
- Way to many DLC's
- Generals are weak and have no real skills...
- Despite rocky start of the game, it became one of my favorite in total war saga. Good graphics and battles.
- Except Total war: Three kingdoms I´ve played all total war games. I must say that Rome II is one of the best historical grand stategies of all time. Rome II is good in all sides of grand strategy game. Mechanics are easy to learn, but hard to apply. Managment of your nation, armies, diplomacy and wars can be challenging on legendary difficult. If you ever wanted to be a leader of superior Rome and conquer the world or start as tribe leader of one gallic tribe and became a supreme leader then Rome II is your best choice.
