The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion presents one of the best RPGs of all time like never before. Step inside the most richly detailed and vibrant game-world ever created. With a powerful combination of freeform gameplay and unprecedented graphics, you can unravel the main quest at your own pace or explore the vast world and find your own challenges. Also included in the Game of the Year edition are Knights of the Nine and the Shivering Isles expansion, adding new and unique quests and content to the already massive world of Oblivion. See why critics called Oblivion the Best Game of 2006.
Features:
- Live Another Life in Another World - create and play any character you can imagine, from the noble warrior to the sinister assassin to the wizened sorcerer.
- First Person Melee and Magic - an all-new combat and magic system brings first person role-playing to a new level of intensity where you feel every blow.
- Radiant AI - this groundbreaking AI system gives Oblivion's characters full 24/7 schedules and the ability to make their own choices based on the world around them. Non-player characters eat, sleep, and complete goals all on their own.
- New Lands to Explore - in the Shivering Isles expansion, see a world created in Sheogorath's own image, one divided between Mania and Dementia and unlike anything you've experienced in Oblivion.
- Challenging new foes - battle the denizens of Shivering Isles, a land filled with hideous insects, Flesh Atronachs, skeletal Shambles, amphibious Grummites, and many more.
- Begin a New Faction - the Knights of the Nine have long been disbanded. Reclaim their former glory as you traverse the far reaches of Cyrodill across an epic quest line.

Reviews
- As the title suggests, this game is on my favorites list. I've probably surpassed the 3K hours of playtime, and with thousands of mods (ranging in anything from textures to quests to more adult orientated material), there's almost always something new with just a small change in mod loadout. Naturally, if you get the game, you might as well get all the DLC, there's no reason, whatsoever, not to. The DLC by themselves are wondrous (I'm a particular fan of the Shivering Isles), but a lot of modding uses assets and works off of other things found within them.

Thus, if you have to purchase any game, and you enjoy RPG's, Oblivion is, and always will be, my first recommendation.
- User bought The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion GOTY Edition EN/DE/FR/IT/ES Global from PLAYBAYWelcome to a world of possibilities, this game has the most gorgeous open world I ever seen. This game is massive. There are so many fun things to do & so many interesting locations to explore & venture to. Have thoroughly enjoyed this classy role-playing experience as I build up my character from humble beginnings to a knight in shining armor. Can be played at your own pace, casually stroll through sunny hillsides, listen to peaceful waterside orchestral music. GFX are beautiful, such lovely scenery, HDR, specular mapping & luxuriant flora fauna. Features fully-voiced dialogue for every NPC. Dynamic level scaling (enemy strength & damage dealt adjusts to your current abilities). Smooth difficulty curve & keep game challenging. Sneak into places & steal their stuff. This game lets you combine stealth & thievery skills with magic to crawl around practically-invisible. Though you get a sudden rush when you get spotted stealing & the guards police chase come to arrest you.
- User bought The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion GOTY Edition EN/DE/FR/IT/ES Global from Playtime (old account)The Game Of The Year edition really worth it because of :

* Knights of the Nine : it's a GREAT DLC, a very rewarding one, both item-wise, and just.. gameplay-wise.
* Shivering Isle : it's a neat, interesting place, and certainly adds to the whole game, don't miss it ;)

All of this adds a good 10-15 hours of extra gameplay to the game so It's certainly worth getting, compared to the regular game !
- This is a wonderful game with absolutely riveting quests, I'm 40 hours in and haven't gotten bored once, make sure you get the GOTY edition, the extra quests are definitely worth it.
