Magic is broken

Developed by the "dream team" that redefined the side-scrolling genre, Absolum is a high-octane blend of classic arcade nostalgia and modern roguelite depth. Set in the shattered world of Talamh, the game explores a land where magic - once a gift - is now feared as a curse. Following a wizard-led cataclysm, the opportunistic Sun King Azra has seized control, using his Crimson Order to hunt down mages and iron-fisted princes to rule the ruins.

You lead a band of outcast heroes, spearheaded by the High Enchantress Uchawi, to dismantle Azra’s empire and reclaim the soul of magic.

Features:

  • Top-Tier Combat: Experience a refined combat system that combines the visceral weight of 90s brawlers with modern fluidity. Execute air juggles, environmental kills, and devastating team-up attacks.
  • Roguelite Structure: No two runs through Talamh are the same. Battle through procedurally shifting territories, earning random magical boons and equipment that reset upon death - while permanent "Legacy" upgrades strengthen your rebellion over time.
  • The Magic System: As outcasts, your heroes use "unstable" magic. Balance high-damage spells with the risk of magical feedback, or scavenge ancient artifacts to stabilize your powers.
  • Four-Player Co-op: Rally your friends for local or online play. Combine your heroes' unique abilities to create synergistic combos that can shatter even the Crimson Order’s elite "Mage-Slayers."
  • A Living World: Explore the vibrant, hand-animated landscapes of Talamh, from the gilded spires of Azra’s capital to the sun-scorched wastes left behind by the cataclysm.
