The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan ist ein Abenteuerspiel, das in einer Atmosphäre des Horrors stattfindet. Die Produktion wurde vom Studio Supermassive Games (Until Dawn, Hidden Agenda) entwickelt. Dies ist die erste Produktion der Band, die nicht nur auf den Konsolen der PlayStation-Familie veröffentlicht wurde.
Man of Medan initiiert The Dark Pictures Anthology, eine Reihe von Horrorspielen von Supermassive Games, die in Zusammenarbeit mit Bandai Namco Entertainment entwickelt wurden. Jeder Teil ist eine eigenständige Geschichte in einem Klima des Grauens, die keinen Bezug zu anderen Teilen hat.
Man of Medan ist ein Abenteuerspiel, bei dem der Schwerpunkt auf dem Erzählen einer interessanten Geschichte liegt. Gameplaytechnisch ist das Spiel eine Weiterentwicklung von Ideen früherer Studiospiele. Während des Spiels treffen wir Entscheidungen, obwohl es auch einige einfache Geschicklichkeits- und logische Herausforderungen gibt.
Während des Spiels können wir fünf Charaktere steuern – vier Taucher und einen zusätzlichen Kapitän des Bootes, mit dem sie das mysteriöse Wrack erreichen. Die Geschichte ist nichtlinear. Unsere Entscheidungen beeinflussen, wer überlebt und wer stirbt und welches der vielen alternativen Enden wir bekommen. Das Ganze soll die Spieler dazu ermutigen, das Spiel immer wieder durchzuspielen, um alle von den Autoren vorbereiteten Szenen und Herausforderungen zu entdecken.

- This is a great title that will take you on an adventure alone or with friends. You will test your courage and the speed you need to use to skillfully choose the decisions to survive.
- The story regarding Man of Medal I liked much more, a mix between urban legends and interior ghosts, its plot very well worked and with an ending (or endings, depending on the decisions made) that did not they leave you indifferent. Graphically it is brutal, surpassing its predecessor in all aspects, with a more than correct optimization. The only downside that I would put is its short duration, something that we have already seen in its previous story and that leaves you with a certain flavor. Although it is replayable due to its different endings, it is still a fairly short experience, which loses steam as we learn its mechanics in the different passes or repetitions. Of course, do not expect full gameplay, the game is a combination of cinematics and QTE with the momentary handling of the characters. Still, it deserves the experience, its plot grabs you and you can't stop until its final event.
