Man of Medan inicjuje The Dark Pictures Anthology, serię horrorów autorstwa Supermassive Games, opracowaną we współpracy z Bandai Namco Entertainment. Każda część to niezależna opowieść w klimacie grozy, niepowiązana z innymi częściami.
Man of Medan to gra przygodowa skupiająca się na opowiedzeniu ciekawej historii. Pod względem rozgrywki gra jest rozwinięciem pomysłów z wcześniejszych gier studia. Podczas zabawy dokonujemy wyborów, aczkolwiek nie brakuje też prostych wyzwań zręcznościowych i logicznych.
W trakcie zabawy możemy pokierować pięcioma postaciami — czterema nurkami oraz dodatkowym kapitanem łodzi, którą mają dotrzeć do tajemniczego wraku. Fabuła jest nieliniowa. Nasze decyzje wpływają na to, kto przeżyje, a kto umrze i jakie z wielu alternatywnych zakończeń otrzymamy. Całość została zaprojektowana tak, aby zachęcić graczy do wielokrotnego przechodzenia przez grę w celu odkrywania wszystkich scen i wyzwań przygotowanych przez autorów.

- This is a great title that will take you on an adventure alone or with friends. You will test your courage and the speed you need to use to skillfully choose the decisions to survive.
- The story regarding Man of Medal I liked much more, a mix between urban legends and interior ghosts, its plot very well worked and with an ending (or endings, depending on the decisions made) that did not they leave you indifferent. Graphically it is brutal, surpassing its predecessor in all aspects, with a more than correct optimization. The only downside that I would put is its short duration, something that we have already seen in its previous story and that leaves you with a certain flavor. Although it is replayable due to its different endings, it is still a fairly short experience, which loses steam as we learn its mechanics in the different passes or repetitions. Of course, do not expect full gameplay, the game is a combination of cinematics and QTE with the momentary handling of the characters. Still, it deserves the experience, its plot grabs you and you can't stop until its final event.
