The Lamplighters League

The Lamplighters League is a turn-based strategy game developed by Harebrained Schemes and released by Paradox Interactive. It takes players to an alternative version of the 1930s. In this version, the world is threatened by a massive evil cult called Banished Court that lurks in the shadows. You take control of the titular Lamplighters. Unfortunately, the best of them have already perished, so you have to deal with the best of the worst.
The game features a range of colorful characters with unique abilities and personalities. With each completed mission, you will gain valuable resources and improve your characters’ abilities.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the upcoming installment in the long-running Assassin’s Creed series. This chapter in the conflict between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order is set in 9th-century Baghdad. Players will take control of Basim Ibn Ishaq, a character that debuted in AC Valhalla.
Unlike the most recent installment focused on RPG elements, Assassin’s Creed Mirage emphasizes action-adventure gameplay and stealth mechanics. Consequently, players who love early Assassin’s Creed games should appreciate that the series returns to its roots.
Detective Pikachu Returns

The sequel to 2016’s Detective Pikachu is finally going to come out. Pikachu and his human companion, Tim Goodman, will have to solve new mysteries, including Pokemon-related incidents across Ryme City and Tom’s father’s disappearance.
Detective Pikachu Returns lets players investigate scenes, look out for clues, and interrogate witnesses. Moreover, Pikachu can ask other Pokemon for help and use their unique skills. Detective Pikachu Returns will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
NHL 24
- Release date: October 6, 2023

EA Sports’s hockey series celebrates its 33rd anniversary this year. The new installment doesn’t revolve around the proven formula. However, NHL 24 offers some new features, including goalie fatigue, an improved passing system, and total control skill moves. Players should also enjoy full crossplay support across HUT and World of Chel game modes.
NHL 24 is available for current and next-gen consoles, except for the Nintendo Switch. There are also no plans to release the PC version of the game. The Colorado Avalanche’s star, Cale Makar, is NHL 24’s cover athlete.
Forza Motorsport

Forza Motorsport reboots the long-running sim racing franchise. The game will allow players to drive over 500 cars from the most renowned manufacturers, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche. Forza Motorsport’s career mode revolves around building and improving the player’s car.
Turn 10 Studios proudly highlights the game’s graphics in press releases and advertisements. Undeniably, the in-game footage showcases remarkable attention to detail, including meticulously rendered car damage, stunning car reflections, and even mirrors accurately reflecting the surroundings.
Total War: Pharaoh

The Total War series has taken players to the Roman Empire, feudal Japan, and even the fantasy universe of Warhammer. This time, strategy fans can prove their tactical skills in Ancient Egypt.
The campaign lets you assume the roles of the Egyptian Pharaoh, ruler of the Canaanites, or the esteemed Great King of the Hittites. Total War: Pharaoh features eight faction leaders, each embodying distinct playstyles determined by such factors as wealth, speed of progress, resource availability, susceptibility to rebellions, and more.
Lords of the Fallen

Lords of the Fallen is a successor to the 2014 Souls-like game of the same name. The new action role-playing title also offers challenging battles and colossal bosses to beat. Players assume the role of Dark Crusaders, who can explore two realms: the realm of the dead and the realm of the living.
Players can customize the protagonist and choose among nine character classes, including Knight, Fire Appreantics, and Rogue. Lords of the Fallen features a campaign mode that can be completed solo or cooperatively. Players can also test their skills in PvP multiplayer mode.
Sonic Superstars

After a very successful experiment with an open world in Sonic Frontiers, the world’s fastest hedgehog returns in a new side-scrolling platformer. Once again, Sonic and his friends, Tails, Amy Rose, and Knuckles, have to stop Doctor Eggman, Fang the Hunter, and other evildoers.
Sonic Superstars provides a new region called the Northstar Islands and fresh power-ups that characters can gain thanks to Chaos Emeralds. The game offers an up-to-4-player local co-op.
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged

It’s a sequel to the highly entertaining racing game that lets players drive model cars. This time, the selection of available vehicles grows thanks to motorcycles and all-terrain cars. Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged features 130 vehicles at launch.
Besides new vessel types, the game introduces fresh abilities, including double jump and lateral drift. Players will test them in single-player and multiplayer modes, including split screen.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Both Peter Parker and Miles Morales return in the long-awaited sequel to 2018’s hit action-adventure game. Spidies will have to face a wide gallery of villains, including Kraven the Hunter, Lizard, and Venom.
Although Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 remains faithful to previous games, players can test some new, outstanding skills while swinging through open-world New York City. Furthermore, you can freely switch between Miles and Peter, which makes the upcoming game even more thrilling.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Set in the captivating Flower Kingdom, where the wondrous Wonder Flowers bloom, collecting them introduces unexpected effects.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder features eight playable characters: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad/Toadette, Yoshi, and Nabbit. The latter two are perfect for your young gamers, as they don’t take any damage.
Cities: Skylines II

Cities: Skyline II is not a title for those seeking high-octane gameplay and photorealistic graphics. Instead, it caters to players who appreciate strategic thinking, meticulous planning, and decision-making. Like its predecessor, this sequel presents the ambitious challenge of constructing a city from the ground up. With an expansive area of up to 159 square kilometers, 4.5 times larger than the first installment, you can cultivate a thriving metropolis.
Colossal Order and Paradox planned to release PC and console versions of Cities: Skylines II at the same time. Unfortunately, companies announced that they had to postpone PS5 and Xbox Series X|S ports. They should come out in early 2024.
Ghostrunner 2

Three years after the premiere of its biggest hit, the One More Level studio is ready to deliver the sequel. Ghostrunner 2 follows the path paved by its predecessor. Consequently, it’s a fast-paced FPP slasher that takes players to a cyberpunk future and lets them become unstoppable ninjas.
The sequel takes place one year after the original Ghostrunner events. This time, the protagonist has to thwart the malevolent scheme of the AI cult that wants to take over humanity.
Alan Wake 2

The incredibly rich month will end with the long-awaited sequel to the cherished action-adventure game. Alan Wake 2 is set 13 years after the first game. Unlike its predecessor, the upcoming Remedy release offers a more survival horror experience inspired by the Resident Evil franchise. Moreover, it features two playable characters. You will control the eponymous writer, trapped in the Dark Place, and a newcomer, Saga Anderson, an FBI agent dispatched to Bright Falls to unravel a series of ritualistic murders.
While the concept has undergone significant improvements, the combat mechanics still are faithful to what fans of Alan Wake are familiar with and adore. Players will find themselves confronting darkness head-on, relying on the illumination of their trusty flashlight to shatter opponents’ shields before being able to finish the job with firearms.
