- Overall a very good game, with enjoyable combat and gameplay mechanics. The voice work was solid throughout, although the script was a bit hit or miss. Visually it was decent, but nothing that will blow you away, although the mob design was excellent, the final boss is one of the best looking I've ever seen. Technically is where the game falls short, the PC port is not good as highlighted by Digital Foundry and other tech websites, it's impossible to get a fully locked 1080p/60fps experience regardless of hardware. I ended up playing at 900p which offered 60fps most of the time, without compromising the visuals too much. I'm hoping the developers will patch it sometime in the future, if you're not dying to play it now I'd wait until they do because it's a really good game, but the performance issues do harm the overall product.

This is a game, not a walking a simulator, not a story driven, here we play, get scared, die and repeat. Definitely my kind of game.

Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks scare us, they mix puzzles and third person shooting in a reborn survival horror ala Resident Evil 4 with the tension/fear of the old Resident Evil games. The Keeper, the Alpha mastodon and other ugly deformed WILL make you have nightmares.<br><br>Terrifying ambience, really tough gameplay (in the Dark Souls style of natural difficulty, not scripted trial-and-error), and the graphics are also pretty good, not the best, but the better the graphics the less scary an horror game is, in my opinion. Horror or not, Shinji Mikami's games are always a blast to play through, and this is no exception. <br><br>Some say the story is convoluted/bad explained, but its an unique form to narrate if you think about it. Yet, you will need the 2 playable Kidman DLCs/Season Pass to even go further behind the curtain.<br><br>One of the most underrated games in the past gen, no doubt.
