Développé par Shinji Mikami, créateur de la série culte Resident Evil, et la talentueuse équipe de Tango Gameworks, The Evil Within incarne l'essence même du survival horror. Enquêtant sur les lieux d'un massacre atroce, l'inspecteur Sebastian Castellanos et ses collègues se retrouvent confrontés à une force mystérieuse et puissante. Après avoir assisté au carnage de ses collègues, Sebastian est pris en embuscade et perd connaissance. À son réveil, il découvre un monde cauchemardesque où d'horribles créatures errent parmi les morts.
Confronté à une terreur inimaginable et luttant pour sa survie, Sebastian se lance dans un voyage effrayant pour percer le mystère de cette force maléfique.
Caractéristiques:
- Le survival horror à l'état pur est de retour ! Shinji Mikami, le père du genre, revient à la réalisation d'un nouveau jeu glaçant, imprégné d'une narration envoûtante. La tension et l'angoisse atteignent des sommets à mesure que vous explorez le monde torturé du jeu.
- Pièges brutaux et créatures monstrueuses : affrontez des horreurs inimaginables et des pièges cruels dans une lutte pour la survie face à un ennemi supérieur en nombre. Retournez le mal contre lui-même en utilisant les mêmes instruments diaboliques contre des créatures mortelles et surpuissantes.

- Overall a very good game, with enjoyable combat and gameplay mechanics. The voice work was solid throughout, although the script was a bit hit or miss. Visually it was decent, but nothing that will blow you away, although the mob design was excellent, the final boss is one of the best looking I've ever seen. Technically is where the game falls short, the PC port is not good as highlighted by Digital Foundry and other tech websites, it's impossible to get a fully locked 1080p/60fps experience regardless of hardware. I ended up playing at 900p which offered 60fps most of the time, without compromising the visuals too much. I'm hoping the developers will patch it sometime in the future, if you're not dying to play it now I'd wait until they do because it's a really good game, but the performance issues do harm the overall product.

Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks scare us, they mix puzzles and third person shooting in a reborn survival horror ala Resident Evil 4 with the tension/fear of the old Resident Evil games. The Keeper, the Alpha mastodon and other ugly deformed WILL make you have nightmares.<br><br>Terrifying ambience, really tough gameplay (in the Dark Souls style of natural difficulty, not scripted trial-and-error), and the graphics are also pretty good, not the best, but the better the graphics the less scary an horror game is, in my opinion. Horror or not, Shinji Mikami's games are always a blast to play through, and this is no exception. <br><br>Some say the story is convoluted/bad explained, but its an unique form to narrate if you think about it. Yet, you will need the 2 playable Kidman DLCs/Season Pass to even go further behind the curtain.<br><br>One of the most underrated games in the past gen, no doubt.
