Reviews
- 198X is a nostalgic trip back to the 80's and the video games of that era. It's a coming of age story told through little segments of video games (a shmup, brawler, racing game etc.) & beautiful pixel art scenes in-between. The Protagonist 'The Kid' narrates throughout the entire game, which is only about 1-2hrs long. While the story is pretty vague overall, I'm sure it still manages to relate to a lot of gamers who discovered video games in their youth. Because I expected more from the story I give it 3/5 stars.
- User bought 198X EN Global from UniqueKeysSellerBoy, where do I start. This game throws you right back into the late 80s to 90s of gaming. From Commodore to Genesis at least. The game plays in days past with an young unnamed protagonist, just "The Kid", finding inspiration again after a messy divorce, in the form of an arcade bar. This is where you'll take control of different games throughout the bar.

Each game is a modern retake on classics, The very first intro sequence was in the style of a classic beat-em-up. To me it sent me right back to Streets of Rage.

Each game was wonderfully crafted, but simple and plentiful enough to leave you feeling satisfied. The music and narration was great as well. This is a fantastic throwback for old fans and a great refreshment for newer gen fans

Pick this up when you can and play it in an afternoon
