Don't Escape: 4 Days in a Wasteland è un thriller post-apocalittico del veterano sviluppatore Scriptwelder, creatore della popolare serie horror Deep Sleep e Don't Escape. I giocatori devono trovare un modo per fortificare adeguatamente la loro casa contro il nuovo pericolo di ogni notte, mentre scoprono la verità dietro l'apocalisse e cercano un modo per mettersi in salvo, se ne esiste uno.
I giocatori viaggeranno al fianco di David, un sopravvissuto solitario dopo la fine del mondo, che si ritrova ad avere sogni profetici... o incubi. Ogni capitolo del gioco ha molteplici potenziali variazioni da incontrare, da nebbia velenosa o ragni a una banda di teppisti assassini o un'ondata di caldo mortale, e, di conseguenza, dovrai adattare la tua strategia a diversi playthrough. Ma non hai per sempre. Alcune azioni fanno avanzare l'orologio di gioco e dovrai completare i preparativi per (si spera) sopravvivere prima che scenda la notte.

- The main mechanics are those of the Point and Click adventures of a lifetime, but introducing very interesting survival elements. It basically consists of preparing your house for the event that will happen during the night, which changes depending on the day (4 in total, random in each game), visiting places and obtaining objects. You will find new characters who will join your group and can help with certain tasks, doing them in less time. What is important, because one of the difficulties is that you have a limited time before it gets dark. Time runs at certain moments (when you travel from one place to another, when you do some 'crafts', like nailing irons in the windows,...), but not when you explore each scene. The game has a story that I found very interesting, with funny conversations and hard moments (you have to make some difficult decisions, and you can lose your team members due to poor planning for the night).
