The latest expansion pack to WoW is here! Since WoW Dragonflight release date is already behind us, we’d love to share out thoughts on the game. Is there a chance that Dragonflight has secured the future of World of Warcraft? Let’s take a look!
Dragon Isles: a new zone to discover
Dragon Isles consist of five distinct regions. The Forbidden Reach is the Dracthyr starting zone, meanwhile, the rest make up the main part of the Isles:
- The Waking Shores: the homeland to red and black Dragonflight,
- Ohn’ahran Plains: vast plains inhabited by the Maruuk Centaur and the green Dragonflight,
- The Azure Span: home to the blue Dragonflight and Tuskarr,
- Thaldraszus: place where the bronze Dragonflight watches the time; you’ll find the main city of the expansion here as well: Valdrakken.

New zones are varied and incredibly lively. Moreover, they’ve been built especially for flying around, so they look equally good from the birds-eye view.
Dragon riding
Dragon riding has become a popular activity amongst players of World of Warcraft. Players have the opportunity to ride various dragon mounts, from the Red Dragonflight to the Black Dragonflight, and customize them to their liking! The dragons are powerful buddies that will accompany us from the very beginning of your journey in the Dragon Isles.
Hey! Have you been looking for that? WZNZPK

Dragon riding is not just flying: it requires some skill! Using your dragon’s abilities consumes vigor points: as soon as you run out of these, your dragon will stop flying and slowly drop to the ground. Leveling and questing grant you new abilities, so don’t worry: you’ll grow in strength alongside your dragon pal!

Customizing your dragon is a fun feature as well. There are a few available dragon types and dozens of elements you can change, including horn shapes, colors, tails, and more. Each dragon animation boasts different animations as well. If you want to see dragon riding on a cinematic, make sure to watch the World of Warcraft launch trailer!
Dragonflight talent tree
Perhaps one of the most important features of the expansion is the talent tree. It’s a new system that lets us mix and match different talents. This way we can pick the talents that suit our playstyle better.
Each character has two talent trees to expand: class and specialization specific. Thanks to both of them, we can create different builds for any purpose: from PvE to PvP, raiding, dungeons, or any other activity in the game.
Refreshed UI
WoW’s user interface has been pretty neglected over the years. Whilst many loved its old-school vibe, the lack of any customization possibilities could be pretty problematic for more advanced players. That’s why many fans downloaded add-ons that allow players to change the looks of virtually any element of the interface. Blizzard finally realized that such a possibility is needed in the game: without the need to download any third-party programs.

Now players can freely adjust their UI to their demands. Even though the new system isn’t particularly groundbreaking and lacks options available in addons, it’s a good start! Hopefully, the developers will add more options in the future.
WoW professions overhaul
Another feature that got majorly revamped is the professions system. While the core mechanic remains the same (crafting from recipes, collecting materials, and gaining levels), the UI went through significant changes. Players can now acquire stats that will boost crafting and make it more efficient. The quality of the materials will also impact this process: meaning less skilled players will collect and produce items of lower quality.

Blizzard also introduces Crafting Orders. This addition makes crafting a more collaborative process. For example, if you need a certain item to craft, you can make an order and wait until another player makes it for you.
Dracthyr Evoker: WoW Dragonflight new race
A newly introduced hero class, Dractyr Evoker is a fun combination of a class and a race in one. Dracthyrs are unique battle mages that combine the powers of different dragon aspects. They introduce a few innovative mechanics, including empowered spells. These spells are skills you have to charge: the longer you do so, the more powerful your ability will be. Moreover, the Dracthyr can fly for short distances, glide, and switch between the draconic form and a humanoid visage. This hero class boasts two specializations: Devastation (DPS) and Preservation (healing).

Another impressive aspect of the Dracthyr is the abundance of customization options. Players can choose from a variety of different elements that will make their dragon look unique: from body types to patterns, horns, muzzle shapes, tails, etc. Also, you can fully customize the looks of your humanoid visage as well!
Final verdict
Dragonflight has to fix the mistakes of the previous DLC, World of Warcraft Shadowlands, and bring this franchise to a higher level. Is that possible? So far, we have truly enjoyed playing the game. Zones are beautiful, and the story so far is quite exciting. We are quite sure that Dragonflight has a chance to become one of the best World of Warcraft expansions!
