Despite the recent issues with Activision Blizzard, WoW remains a popular title. Therefore, we’ve decided to gather some of the most asked questions about WoW. Let’s go!
When was World of Warcraft released?
WoW came to life on November 23, 2004. After Warcraft’s RTS success, a game of a different genre, set in the same universe, turned out to be a huge hit. Players fell in love with the sense of exploration and adventure WoW gave them, features that still make World of Warcraft a great title.
Since that day, the game went through dozens of significant changes, including countless class changes, visual revamps, and of course expanding the story. Nevertheless, the game still does offer the old-school vibe thanks to the engine and core mechanics.
How to install addons World of Warcraft?
Addons are third-party programs and scripts that offer additional functionalities to the game. Many players consider add-ons a must-have feature that facilitates many activities in-game or gives you an insight to usually not available data like damage or healing done scores.
Players can get access to addons from a manager CurseForge. This manager lets you download new programs and easily update existing ones. Currently, this platform boasts almost 10,000 addons!
If you don’t want to use a manager for any reason, you may always add addons manually by downloading them and moving them to the correct addon folder in the game’s files. However, you’ll have to track what happens to the programs and follow the updates yourself, a process that might be a bit tedious if we use a lot of them.
How to level up fast in World of Warcraft
Since WoW is an 18-year-old game, leveling used to take considerable time. Thanks to a major level squish and the introduction of a completely new leveling system, this process is much less time-consuming now. Players no longer have to follow the World of Warcraft expansions chronologically or do hundreds of dungeons for quick XP. They may pick any expansion pack they want and level thanks to scaling. Therefore, they can skip expansions they didn’t like and complete those that they find interesting. Moreover, certain expansions boast additional challenges that significantly boost leveling, like Wow Legion.
Speeding up the leveling process can be also done by grouping up with people and using Party Sync mode, thanks to which we can repeat quests. You may also start leveling on a new starting zone called Exile’s Reach which gives you quick XP and starting gear.
Which class should I play?
Choosing your class in WoW shouldn’t be an issue: it all depends on your playstyle. Each class has a different role and overall features, so before you decide which class to pick, give them a go in the trial mode. Classes have different specializations: for instance, Druids can be tanks, healers, or DPS dealers. Simply choose what feels right for you! Some classes, like Hunters, are damage dealers only.
Since leveling is pretty fast, you may always try a different class and see what clicks with you: do not hesitate to switch them, as there’s nothing worse than playing something you don’t really enjoy.
There are some less beginner-friendly classes, but keep in mind that the time you’ll spend on leveling will give you enough time to familiarize yourself with mechanics. Doing a few dungeons will give you a fair amount of insight into their abilities. Switch the roles, experiment with different classes, and simply have fun! What is World of Warcraft Classic?
Not everyone loves the new features introduced in WoW over the years. WoW Classic gives you a chance to experience the game in its vanilla days. It’s a real trip down the memory lane that includes all the flavors of the old-school World of Warcraft: from low poly graphics to iconic mechanics that no longer exist in the game.
The release turned out to be a huge success. Activision Blizzard soon after released the very first expansion pack: World of Warcraft the Burning Crusade Classic. Soon, it will be joined by Wrath of the Lich King Classic, one of the best expansion packs ever made.
When is the next World of Warcraft expansion coming out?
We will be able to continue our adventures in Azeroth in 2022, as recently posted on WoW’s official Twitter. There’s no precise date yet, but Blizzard stated the game will definitely come out before December 31, 2022. Players are quite skeptical about this date: many of them feel the DLC will be unnecessarily rushed. For now, we have to wait!
