This May will bloom with exciting video games. We will get some much-anticipated big releases as well as some indie titles that have the potential to win gamers’ hearts. Let’s look at what game will come out in the upcoming weeks.
MotoGP 24
- Release date: May 2, 2024
- Platforms: PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5.
The new FIM MotoGP season started in March, and a while later, fans will have a chance to return to virtual circuits. MotoGP 24 promises to bring the thrill of motorcycling racing to your screens with stunning graphics and realistic gameplay. The game is officially licensed, so you can join actual teams and race the world’s best drivers on the most renowned circuits.

This installment brings some changes. First of all, transfers of the real drivers are finally enabled in the career mode. The Raiders Market is a feature that many fans have been waiting for. They should also enjoy the adaptive difficulty that makes MotoGP 24 a great experience, regardless of their initial skills.
V Rising
- Release date: May 8, 2024
- Platforms: PC
After two years spent in early access, Stunlock Studios’ mix of an action RPG and a survival game will finally get its full release. It has already sold over 3 million copies, receiving very positive reviews; hence, we can be calm about the quality of the game.

In V Rising, players assume the role of a just-awaken vampire whose bloodthirst is as incredible as their ambition. Therefore, you’ll embark on an adventure in a gothic open world consisting of five biomes. You have to regain your strength, gain an army of loyal servants, and eventually build the most impressive empire under the sun. And speaking of the sun, V Rising uses some interesting mechanics. For instance, there’s a day-night cycle. The night belongs to you, but when the sun goes up, you have to hide in the shadows or find another way to avoid turning into ash. Another noteworthy thing is that the blood of different factions provides the protagonist with unique advantages.
Little Kitty, Big City
- Release date: May 9, 2024
- Platforms: PC
This indie adventure game created by Double Dagger Studio lets you play as an adorable cat. As cats are undeniably emperors of the internet, some players don’t need any more information to give the game a try. But to be fair, Little Kitty, Big City looks promising if you’re looking for relaxation rather than a challenge or a complex plot.

The titular Kitty has to find the way home, and that’s the main quest. Before finishing it, you can explore the city, interact with humans and other animals, and complete side missions. Of course, you can spend some time doing cat things, such as entering boxes and taking naps. There’s also a wide array of hats that make the cat look even cuter.
Homeworld 3
- Release date: May 13, 2024
- Platforms: PC
After years of waiting and struggles, the RTS series finally returns. The game was developed by Blackbird Interactive, a studio that has some of the people behind previous installments on board. As a result, we can rest assured that Homeworld 3 stays faithful to the franchise’s origins. It should also match its predecessors, delivering an equally compelling story.

There are also some brand-new features. For example, 3D terrain promises heightened space battle thrills. It adds complexity, requiring players to navigate obstacles while offering strategic opportunities like using colossal wrecks, known as megaliths. Noteworthy changes include visible ship damages that persist throughout the campaign and a new 3-player online co-op mode with roguelike elements.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut
- Release date: May 16, 2024
- Platforms: PC
One of the best PlayStation exclusives will come out on PC this month. Ghost of Tsushima takes us to the titular island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. Players follow the story of Jin Sakai, a samurai who becomes the last line of defense against the enemy forces. Sword duels are an essential part of the gameplay, but players who find them too challenging can lower the difficulty level.

One of Ghost of Tsushima’s biggest advantages is its staggering graphics. Astonishing visuals make exploring the island a memorable experience. Moreover, The Director’s Cut includes the original release and the Iki Island expansion. The DLC introduces new storylines, characters, and environments.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic
- Release date: May 21, 2024
- Platforms: PC
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic adds another expansion to the classic version of the world’s most popular MMORPG. As a result, players can again witness the arrival of Deathwing the Destroyer, a legendary black dragon who returned to turn Azeroth into ashes.

Besides the well-known improvements, such as the arrival of worgen and goblin races, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic offers some noteworthy changes compared to the original Cataclysm. Players should warmly welcome increased dungeon drops. Other significant modifications regard hunter’s pets functioning and Guilds.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
- Release date: May 21, 2024
- Platforms: PC, Xbox Series S|X
Hellblade II is one of the most anticipated games of 2024. This action-adventure game created by Ninja Theory continues the story of Senua, a Pict warrior suffering from psychosis. The disease manifests as voices in the protagonist’s head. The sequel should bring back successful parts of the first game, such as puzzle-solving and psychological horror elements, combined with a new combat system.

The original game was developed and published by a small team. During the sequel development, Ninja Theory had a bigger budget thanks to its partnership with Microsoft. I hope that cooperation with such a big company hasn’t affected their creativity.
MultiVersus
- Release date: May 28, 2024
- Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One Xbox, Series X|S, PC
Multiverse is a brawler featuring characters from very remote franchises, including Batman, Scooby-Doo, Game of Thrones, and Looney Tunes. Its open beta version was launched in 2022, receiving favorable reviews and a lot of media buzz. However, it went offline in early 2023. We haven’t heard much about MultiVersus since then. Now, it’s getting a full launch, but it could be problematic to regain all the hype and coverage the game got rid of by shutting its servers down.

However, the new version may exceed the beta release, as the game moved from Unreal 4 to Unreal 5. I’m curious how it will affect the gameplay. The game will also feature cross-play and cross-progression support, so maybe the servers will be full again.
F1 24
- Release date: May 31, 2024
- Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One Xbox, Series X|S, PC

This year, Christmas came much earlier for racing game fans. In May, we’re getting both MotoGP 24 and F1 24. The new official Formula 1 game from Codemasters and EA Sports features some improvements, such as the revamped career mode and dynamic handling system. Even though it offers some new features, and I assume that F1 2024 will be a fine racing game, I would skip it if I had any of the latest installments. However, players who enjoy F1 and haven’t played F1 games for a while should give it a try.
