Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Release date and more

23 June 2022

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an upcoming sequel in the fan-favorite Batman Arkham saga. The game will let us stand on the other side of the cape and save the world as a bunch of villains. Let’s wrap up what we know about this wild adventure.

UPDATE: April 17, 2023

The Arkham series

Rocksteady Studios’ Batman: Arkham Asylum was more impressive than Bruce Wayne’s fortune. This 2009 treasure delivered on every level. It featured a good story, exceptional graphics, and an innovative fighting system that many games have replicated since then. It was followed by equally successful sequels (you’ll find them in our Best Superhero Games Collection).

Kill the Justice League cast

Unfortunately, Arkham has remained closed for the last few years. Now, the series is about to return for the first time since 2015 (or 2016 if you count Batman: Arkham VR in). Players are craving every piece of information about the new game – Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Cast

Unlike the previous entries in the series, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League won’t feature Batman as the protagonist. We’ll control four members of the infamous Suicide Squad instead. Here’s the Rocksteady Studios’ Suicide Squad cast:

  • Harley Quinn,
  • King Shark,
  • Captain Boomerang,
  • Deadshot.

Besides the Task Force X members, we’ll meet many renowned DC characters, including Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash, the Penguin, and Amanda Waller. We can see the Batmobile in one of the trailers, so there’s a fair chance that the Caped Crusader will somehow join the action.

Also, the full voice cast remains unknown. We’ve only learned of a few actors that will lend their voices to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League characters so far. It was revealed that WWE star Samoa Joe would be the voice of King Shark, and Tara Strong would return as Harley Quinn. It’s exciting news because the Canadian-American actress has brilliantly portrayed the Joker’s ex-girlfriend in many cartoons and video games, including the Batman: Arkham and Injustice series.

Suicide Squad gameplay

Gameplay

We assume that Kill the Justice League gameplay will resemble Arkham Knight in many ways. On the other hand, we expect some significant differences, as the upcoming Rocksteady game, unlike the previous Arkham releases, will feature a cooperative mode. So far, only one trailer demonstrating the gameplay has been revealed. It indicates that in Suicide Squad, guns will play a considerable role. It’s a noticeable departure from the previous Arkham games, where hand-to-hand combat and gadgets were the primary means of solving Batman’s problems.

Moreover, each playable character will have unique skills. For instance, Deadshot uses a jetpack and can attack enemies from above, while Harley Quinn swings on a line and deals blows with her iconic baseball bat. As a result, choosing each member of the Suicide Squad should provide a slightly different experience. The latest piece of gameplay was revealed during the State of Play event on February 23, 2023. You can watch it here.

Suicide Squad

Story

Details of the game’s plot remain a mystery. However, we know that the action will take place in Metropolis following the invasion of Brainiac’s forces. Not only will the Suicide Squad have to face the supervillain and his forces, but also brainwashed Justice League members. We expect tons of action, wacky humor, and hours of delightful conversations that may compete with Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Release date

Kill the Justice League release date

The game looks extremely enjoyable, so players are dying to learn the exact Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League release date. Rocksteady Studios announced the game in 2020 and revealed that it should come out in 2022. Unfortunately, the Suicide Squad’s release date was first postponed to early 2023, and in April, Rocksteady announced that it would not come out in 2023. The current release date is February 2, 2024. We hope there won’t be any further issues, and we’ll meet Harley, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang in the first half of next year.
