Since the game has finally been released, we can say a word or two about its premiere. It turned out to be more than great: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom managed to achieve the best Metacritic rating ever! Reviewers quite unanimously agree that this title is a fantastic piece of the game that truly embodies the rich world of Zelda games. It’s huge, vivid and exciting!
There’s a lot of amazing content that will interest both new and veteran fans of the series. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a number of new mechanics, such as the introduction of a new type of weapon and magical abilities. There are also plenty of puzzles to solve and secrets to uncover, ensuring a rewarding experience for those who take the time to explore. Additionally, the game offers an incredible soundtrack that adds depth and beauty to the adventure!
Continuation of the epic adventure
It is the sequel to 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and builds upon its open-world adventure gameplay. Players take control of the protagonist Link as they explore a vast kingdom in search of an ancient artifact that can restore peace. Along the way, they must battle monsters and bandits while also completing side quests to earn rewards and progress in their journey.
The game features an open world filled with secrets and puzzles to solve and a massive cast of characters to meet and interact with. With its new emphasis on story-telling, Tears of the Kingdom is sure to be an epic adventure for any fan of the series. Similar to the previous installment, Tears of the Kingdom is going to feature a characteristic 3D art style. It won’t feel much different from its predecessor, but it will introduce many new features and focus on aerial gameplay.
A new story
Nintendo doesn’t like spoiling its stories, so we don’t know much about what is going to happen in Tears of the Kingdom. Trailers don’t reveal much; however, we might notice the game is darker in tone compared to Breath of the Wild. Zelda’s uncertainty in the trailer is a clear sign that the story will probably surprise us all. This secrecy is, of course, what makes The Legend of Zelda such a great game. We can’t wait to discover every bit and piece of the story!
This new Nintendo game will once again bring the beloved thrill of exploration. It was one of the signature elements of BoW; now it will be expanded by discovering what’s up in the skies. There will be lots of breathtaking moments, for sure!
Gameplay
When it comes to the gameplay, we also haven’t received much information. While the game will be similar in terms of mechanics, we will gain access to a new arsenal of diverse weapons, including a mechanical-ish arm that lets you perform various actions, such as lifting and puzzle-solving. Players will also acquire new ways of traversing the world, which is now even bigger! It’s a fact that the file size of the game is going to be the biggest of all games ever released on the Nintendo Switch. That’s good news, as the game will be even richer in content than the already huge Breath of the Wild.
Since Tears of the Kingdom expands Hyrule upwards, Link will need new vehicles. Don’t worry, his faithful mount won’t be gone! As seen in one of the trailers, Link is going to use a flying drone-like machine. Perhaps it will be one of many flying vehicles available in the game.
When is Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom coming out?
We’ll be able to play this title on May 12, 2023, on Nintendo Switch consoles only. Players may choose between two editions: standard and collector’s Edition, which include physical goodies such as a steelbook, artbook, poster, and pins. If you collect Amiibo, you can also preorder The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Amiibo figurine.
Do you have to play Breath of the Wild in order to play the next installment? It’s difficult to say that right now. The story is shrouded in mystery after all! We do, however, recommend playing it. It’s a huge game with an original narrative, iconic characters, and unique designs.
Considering how great the previous installment was, we are more than sure that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is going to be an epic adventure.
