God of War (2005) (God of War 1)
God of War game from 2005 is often called God of War 1, as it was the first installment of this loosely based on mythology series. God of War 1 release date was March 22, 2005, and since then, the franchise has constantly increased its fan base. The first game quickly became an unquestionable hit with more than 4.6 million copies sold worldwide and several Game of the Year awards won.

Kratos, God of War 1 and the whole series’ protagonist, faces a mission of finding Pandora’s box, which is believed to be the key to defeating Ares. Prepare for some serious combat, a gripping storyline, and the reveal of the legend of the Ghost of Sparta.

Some of them, including Zeus, are determined to kill you, but some will actually act helpful. Embark on a journey to cheat death, change your destiny, and reclaim your godhood.
God of War 3
In the next chapter of the life of Kratos, God of War 3, you’ll join him in seeking revenge against both gods and titans, who abandoned him after the Great War. The last one standing by his side is the spirit of deceased Athena, who will help you seek the Flame of Olympus in order to defeat Zeus. Once again, you’ll meet some mythological characters of God of War 3: Poseidon, Hermes, Aphrodite, and many others who have their own opinion about Kratos. Hades, God of War 3 boss and a major antagonist, will try to stop you from escaping the Underworld for the second time.

God of War: A Call from the Wilds
That project is a short text-based game released in 2018 for Facebook Messenger. It’s a prequel to 2018’s God of War, and it introduces you to the character of Atreus, who you’ll join on his first adventure in the Norse wilds. Completing this game unlocks downloadable concept art.
God of War: Mimir’s Vision
Another title that sets the background for 2018’s God of War. This mobile AR game lets you experience the new Norse setting, which is quite different from the Greek one seen in the previous installments. Thanks to the interactive map, you can get familiar with the locations and legends before you put your hands on the God of War 4.
God of War 4 is actually considered the most recognizable title of this huge series. In 2018’s God of War, we once again join Kratos on his life path, but this time, we’re not alone. Kratos travels across the Norse-inspired lands with his son Atreus by his side. They’re on their way to spread the ashes of the boy’s mother at the highest peak of the nine realms. The God of War 4 story is, once again, filled with mythical creatures, gods and goddesses, and the ghost of mysterious destiny.
God of War 4 characters are mainly new to the series, and the cast includes well-known names like Freya, Odin, or Baldur. Each of them has their role to play before Ragnarok begins.
The game was undeniably well-received and won multiple awards. So it’s not in any way surprising that the PlayStation exclusive finally gets a PC version. God of War PC version will release January 14, 2022. How long is God of War 4? Well, the main story gameplay takes about 21 hours, so you better prepare for a gripping adventure.
The new God of War, 5th main game of the saga, evokes emotions as many players loved the previous installment featuring the adventures of godlike father and son. God of War Ragnarok is said to be a continuation of Kratos and Atreus’ story, including more references to myths, more secrets to unravel, an unexplained prophecy, and the inevitable approaching of Ragnarok, which is believed to change everything.
When is God of War Ragnarok coming out? The game is currently one of the most anticipated upcoming titles, so the gaming community is dying for more details about its release. For now, the God of War Ragnarok release date is set to sometime in 2022. The game will be available only for PlayStation consoles, but it’s risky to call God of War PS5 exclusive. There are high hopes that the game will eventually release on PC, just like the previous installment.
If you can’t wait to play the freshest title from the series – God of War Ragnarok, pre-order it now and become one of the first to start this magnificent adventure filled with monsters and gods’ power. While waiting, take your chance to try out the PC version of 2018’s God of War and prepare for the Norse experience!
