Story of Devil May Cry 5
The game closes the story plots opened in the fourth part, and takes place several years after it. The action begins when in well-known city of Red Grave an unusual and bizarre phenomenon has occurred. An enormously giant and terrifying tree rises from the grounds to terrorize the city and suck out the blood of the citizens of Red Grave.
Young devil hunter Nero, which is one of three playable characters along side Dante and the mysterious V, races into Red Grave with his partner Nico. Equipped with his Red Queen sword and custom Blue Rose revolver Nero sinks into the city to slay the demons and therefore putting an end to theirs invasion.
The stylish mechanics of Devil May Cry 5
The game draws similarities from previous editions. The classic combat style, which is a little bit goofy and at the same time really stylish is once again incorporated to the game. As you chain together stylish combos your stylish meter is rising rewarding you with higher grades at the end of the combat, even up to SSS grade. Shooting for higher stylish ranks has the benefits ranging from more damage multiplier ending in pumping up the music.
As you defeat more enemies you receive more magical red stones of crystallized demon blood– an in game currency for leveling up your character. Unlock new skills, collect and upgrade new weaponry, reveal new finishers.
Naturally, from time to time, we have to face off bosses. These battles are the most demanding one, but simultaneously the most rewarding. Divided into 2 or more stages, creates an unforgettable moments of slaughter and emotions.
Game offers also confrontations with multiple enemies at the same time, which is not so common in this genre of games.
Capcom has taken a different course when it comes to the off-combat moments. Inspired by Dragon’s Dogma approach, areas are more open and sandbox like. Even though they are not completely open, player receives more freedom than in previous games.
Exploration is similar to the one from Bayoneta game series, but we are not limited with stamina bar, which allows for more casual approach, without a need of resource managing.
Devil May Cry 5 is build around RE Engine, originally designated for Resident Evil game series. That was a perfect choice and the effects of that are observable during unreal cutscenes. The level of details, the quality of sound, and a perfect frame-rate allows us to enjoy the game even better. The engine is also perfectly designed for fast-paced fights with a lot of funky and stylish effects
