The closing month of 2024 won’t be brimming with much-anticipated video games. However, this doesn’t mean there are no interesting new releases on the horizon. Let’s look at the most exciting video game releases of December 2024.
Delta Force

Delta Force is a tactical FPS that lets players become members of an elite peacekeeping force during a conflict in the fictional Ahsarah region in 2035. Alternatively, you can test your skills in 1993 Somalia as the upcoming game recreates the Black Hawk campaign from the 2003 Delta Force. Players can engage in diverse game modes, including operations for small teams and warfare set on a vast map.
Delta Force was one of the most downloaded and wishlist demos during the recent Steam Next Fest, so the number of players interested in it is considerable. The game’s popularity should also be boosted by its free-to-play model.
Path of Exile 2

The long-awaited sequel to Grinding Gear Games’s hit action RPG will enter the early access stage. The sequel lets players return to the dark world of Wraeclast long after the events of the first game. Like its predecessor, PoE 2 uses the free-to-play model, making it an even more attractive alternative to Diablo IV.
It boasts a vast character customization model with specializations of dozens of skills. The full game will feature 12 character classes, half of which will be available in the early access:

- Monk,
- Mercenary,
- Sorceress,
- Witch,
- Ranger.
It also lures players with a diversity of enemies. The campaign will throw at you 600 different beats and 100 bosses. Co-op for up to six players is another noteworthy feature.
Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals is an online hero shooter. Hence, it will try to succeed where Concord spectacularly failed. However, NetEase Games’s title has two advantages the Firewalk Studios shooter lacked. First of all, it features hyper-popular Marvel superheroes, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Groot, Storm, and many others.
Additionally, it’s another free-to-play game that comes out this December. Therefore, players can try it without spending a dime. The masses of players storming Marvel Rivals’s arenas during its beta tests suggest that the shortage of gamers won’t be its problem. All in all, Marvel Rivals can shake the balance of forces in the market dominated by such releases as Overwatch, Team Fortress 2, and Apex Legend.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

The world’s most famous archeology professor returns to the world of video games after over a decade. The upcoming action-adventure game, developed by MachnineGame, lets us follow Indiana Jones on an original adventure in 1937. As usual, Indie must find a powerful artifact and thwart plans of sinister forces threatening the world. His quest will take players to multiple locations, including Italy, Egypt, and Thailand. Players will help Indie solve puzzles and deal with enemies that can be taken down in open fights or silently passed by.
Indiana Jones and the Great mostly uses the first-person perspective, which seems understandable as the game was developed by MachineGames, a studio behind fan-favorite FPS Circle Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. The new Indie game will first be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S. In the first half of 2025, Dr. Jones should reach PlayStation 5.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered

Aspyr Media is a studio known for reviving classic games. Its latest release, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, was widely praised. We hope the good fortune will continue with another set of cherished action-adventure games. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered contains improved versions of two games featuring the demon Raziel and following his pursuit of his former master, Kain.
Soul Reavers, as well as the entire Legacy of Kain series, were beloved for their deep lore and compelling stories. Those components will surely also be strong sides of Soul Reaver remasters.
