Dynasty Warriors: Origins
- Release date: January 17, 2025
- Platforms: PC, Xbox Series S|X, PS 5

Dynasty Warriors: Origins reimagines the legendary series with a fresh perspective. Developed by Omega Force, this 2025 hack-and-slash game revisits the tumultuous Three Kingdoms era, blending epic battles with strategic depth. Players step into the role of a nameless protagonist navigating a land ravaged by war and unrest, encountering iconic historical figures like Liu Bei and Cao Cao. With its refined combat system, including a new parry mechanic and tactical decision-making, Origins balances fast-paced action with meaningful battlefield strategies.
The game’s narrative provides an accessible entry point for newcomers while delivering the massive skirmishes and engaging gameplay veterans have come to love. Among the game’s features are also awe-inspiring visuals, cinematic sieges, and dynamically shifting alliances. I’m very curious how the first Dynasty Warriors game since 2018 will turn out.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

The award-winning Final Fantasy VII Rebirth arrives on PC this January, bringing Square Enix’s acclaimed sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake to a new audience. Continuing the reimagined tale of Cloud Strife and his companions, the game takes players beyond Midgar to explore a vast, open world filled with iconic locations like Cosmo Canyon and the Gold Saucer. The game has been optimized for, so it supports frame rates up to 120 FPS, enhanced lighting, detailed textures, and NVIDIA DLSS for a seamless experience.
The fast-paced hybrid combat system evolves further with new Synergy abilities, allowing for dynamic team attacks, while expanded traversal mechanics make exploration thrilling.
Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles
- Release date: January 23, 2025
- Platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S

Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles returns on January 23, 2025, revived by Aspyr with modern enhancements while retaining the nostalgic charm of its side-scrolling action roots. Set during The Phantom Menace, players will battle legions of droids, mercenaries, and iconic foes like Darth Maul across ten levels, including Theed Palace and the deserts of Tatooine. With refined controls and smoother gameplay, the classic’s fast-paced lightsaber combat shines brighter than ever.
Players have an expanded roster, including Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Plo Koon, with all previously unlockable characters now available from the start. New additions include a Tusken Raider and a Rodian, among others. Lightsaber enthusiasts can toggle between original and screen-accurate blade colors and use classic cheat codes like Big Head Mode. You can enjoy the campaign solo or team up with a friend in couch co-op. I’ll probably give the game a try; however, I’ve got some concerns, especially regarding graphics. Other games rekindled by Aspyre look great (e.g., Tomb Raider, Soul Reaver), but Jedi Power Battles seem worse than modern mobile games. I’m afraid it can scare off some players.
