23 January 2020

Red Dead Redemption 2 has proven to be a highly successful entry into the franchise, both critically and commercially. However, to get a better idea of whether or not you would like this game, let’s look at a gameplay review.

Plot

Let’s start by talking briefly about the plot of the game. It’s set in 1911 when an outlaw named John Marston is tasked with bringing justice to the wild west. This brings him into contact with a range of interesting people as he attempts to accomplish this dangerous quest. The game will progress linearly, making it easier for you to understand the plot. However, between missions, you will be able to explore the world.

Controls

Red Dead Redemption is played from a third-person point of view. This means a player can view the character move, interact, and fight during the extraordinary gameplay, making it easier for you to control the gunslinger. You will also have the ability to interact with your environment, which is an essential part of the game. For example, you will have to be able to tame a horse, which will transport you around the world. You might also want to use a train to get around if you need to get somewhere quickly.

Honor System

One of the most important parts of the game for new players to understand. Each action that you take has an impact on how much honor is associated with Marston’s character. You increase the amount of honor that you have by making moral decisions. If you have a lot of honor, the townspeople will feel comfortable being around you, and you will be able to get a discount in stores. However, you don’t always have to make the right choice. If you choose to act immorally, the townspeople won’t welcome you in. But you will earn the respect of criminals, who will provide a discount.

Gunfights

One of the most exciting aspects of this game is the ability to engage in gunfights. You will be able to gather and use multiple weapons that fit with the time period. When doing this, the advanced AI system will make the character react realistically. For example, if you shoot someone in the leg, they will run with a limp. If you do commit a crime, and you kill or bribe people before they can report it, you won’t face any consequences.

Open World

Finally, one of the most impressive parts of this game is the way that the creators have been able to build an open world. This will allow you to move wherever you want. You might even be able to go across the border, into Mexico. As you travel you will encounter a range of new scenarios that you will need to deal with.
