March 2024 video game releases. This month looks promising

28 February 2024

The list of March 2024 video game releases is not enormously long; however, it’s not lacking titles worth waiting for. One of the most-awaited PS5 exclusives is about to come out. Moreover, PC players will finally get a chance to experience Aloy’s second adventure, and a classic survival horror returns in a new incarnation. Let’s see those and other hot premieres in March.

The Outlast Trials

  • Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S
  • Release date: March 5, 2024

PC players have played the psychological survival horror developed and published by Red Barrels since its early access launch in May 2023. On March 5, 2024, the game will get its full release and become available on multiple platforms.

Players assume the role of prisoners on whom the Murkoff Corporation is running brutal tests during its research on brainwashing and mind control. To regain your freedom, you’ll have to complete a series of cruel trials. The game has been receiving very positive opinions; however, it’s definitely a title for those who like gore. Fortunately, The Outlast Trials features a co-op mode for up to four players, so you don’t have to face horrors alone.

WWE 2K24

  • Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S
  • Release date: March 8, 2024 (Standard Edition)

The new upcoming installment in the wrestling series from 2K and Visual Concepts celebrates the 40th anniversary of Wrestlemania. Hence, the game allows wrestling fans to recreate some of its most memorable moments. This can be the most distinctive feature of WWE 2K24, but, to be honest, we get used to the fact that sports franchises avoid revolutionary changes.

As a result, WWE 2K24 offers everything the series fans know and like, including a roster filled with current and iconic wrestling stars and game modes that allow you to become a wrestler or manager. There are also all kinds of weird matches, including casket matches, in which you have to lock your opponents in the coffin. No modern sports game can’t miss the ultimate team mode. Therefore, MyFaction returns in WWE 2K24.

MLB The Show 24

  • Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S
  • Release date: March 19, 2024

MLB The Show 24 is another sports game that will come out this March. The 19th installment in the series, developed by San Diego Studio, doesn’t herald an extreme change. However, fans of Derek Jeter should be particularly interested in the games, as the Yankees icon is the hero of the new Storylines mode.

MLB The Show 24 is available on Sony and Microsoft consoles, so the series will miss the PC market again.

Alone in the Dark

  • Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
  • Release date: March 20, 2024

The classic survival horror game returns dressed in brand-new clothes. As the Resident Evil remakes, the new Alone in the Dark ditches fixed camera angles in favor of modern third-person perspective with the camera placed over the character’s shoulder.

The game retells the story from the first game. Consequently, players will explore Derceto Manor as Emily Hartwood and Edward Carnby. The protagonists are portrayed by Jodie Comer and David Harbour, who is best known for his performance as Jim Hopper in Stranger Things.

Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition

  • Platforms: PC
  • Release date: March 21, 2024

PC players should mark March 21 in their calendars as one of the best PlayStation exclusives will be released on computers. The first chapter in Aloy’s story was an excellent action RPG, but the sequel surpasses it in every possible way. Moreover, the Complete Edition includes the Burning Shores expansion.

The PC version of Forbidden West features support for ultrawide and triple monitors. Customizable graphics settings will also let you find the perfect balance between visuals and performance. If you haven’t explored the world overrun by animalistic machines yet, the upcoming premiere is the perfect reason to buy Horizon Zero Dawn and prepare yourself for the sequel.

Dragon’s Dogma 2

  • Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X
  • Release date: March 22, 2024

After over a decade, Capcom’s RPG will get a sequel. It’s exciting news for everyone who enjoys a single-player experience with a compelling story. You assume the role of Arisen, a hero involved in the conflict between two realms. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a solo game; however, AI-controlled companions called Pawns will join you on your quest. They help the protagonist in combat as well as provide valuable tips and information.

The sequel features an open world approximately four times bigger than the game’s map. RPG fans should also enjoy vast options to customize their Arisens.

Rise of the Rōnin

  • Platforms: PlayStation 5
  • Release date: March 22, 2024

Rise of the Ronin, an action RPG set during the last years of the Tokugawa shogunate, is definitely one of the most exciting March 2024 video game releases. Players step into the shoes of a ronin, a samurai without a master. While being lordless was seen as dishonorable, ronin had the freedom to forge their own destiny. This liberty plays a central role in the game right from the beginning, as the main character is entirely customizable. This allows you to create your very own unique character.

Developers from Team Ninja ensure that players’ decisions will have a crucial impact on the story. Combat is another key factor. It depends on parrying, evading, and blocking, so it resembles Soulslike games. However, Rise of the Ronin doesn’t have to be extremely challenging, as it features three difficulty levels that can be switched at any time.

South Park: Snow Day!

  • Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch
  • Release date: March 26, 2024

Cartman, Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and other South Park residents return in a new game. Like in The Stick of Truth and The Fractured but Whole, players will control the protagonist, called the New Kid. However, the gameplay has been altered significantly. The previous games featured 2.5D graphics and turn-based combat. South Park: Snow Day! is more of an action-adventure game with real-time fights and 3D visuals.

Despite the changes, we’re certain that the new game will remain faithful to the over-the-top humor every South Park fan loves.
