Warhorse Studios finally officially announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. It means that the highly-praised action role-playing game will get a sequel. Developers promise that it will be much bigger than the original release.
The first game and background
The history of making the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a story of perseverance. The developer had a hard time trying to get funds to finish their game. However, they never quit, and when money from a few investors ran out, they asked gamers for help. The crowdfunding campaign was a tremendous success, gathering about 1.4 million dollars. Many players liked to back the project even after the end of the Kickstarter campaign. As a result, the sum grew to 2 million dollars. It proved that there was a broad audience waiting for the game. Kingdom Come: Deliverance was published by Deep Silver in February 2018, receiving favorable reviews and becoming a financial success.

The game created by Warhorse Studios stands out among other action role-playing video games because it doesn’t feature any magic or paranormal elements. Instead, it puts emphasis on historical accuracy. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is set in the medieval Kingdom of Bohemia, an Imperial State of the Holy Roman Empire. The story begins in 1403 and follows the story of Henry, the son of a blacksmith. His life is thrown into chaos after his village is burned down by invading forces. Seeking revenge, Henry joins the service of Lord Radzig Kobyla. Thus, the protagonist becomes embroiled in a bloody conflict to restore the rightful ruler to the throne.
Gamers and critics praised Kingdom Come: Deliverance for its realistic combat system. Players engage in first-person melee fights with a vast arsenal of weapons, including swords, axes, and hammers. After the premiere, the game was expanded with several free and paid DLCs. The last one came out in May 2019, so players started to ask about a proper sequel.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: Release date and platforms
Warhorse Studios revealed the sequel to its hit RPG in May 2024. The exact release date hasn’t been announced yet. However, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 should come out by the end of 2024. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: Story
The sequel continues the story of Henry of Skalitz. Hence, we will continue our journey in early 15th-century Bohemia. The land is torn by civil war, and our hero, still fueled by revenge, must face the forces of the Hungarian king, Sigismund of Luxembourg. The developers promise we will get an epic story with approximately five hours of cutscenes. In comparison, Kingdom Come: Deliverance featured three hours of cinematics.
Particularly, players who like to spend hours shaping their protagonists should have a great time with the sequel, as it leaves creating the protagonist to you. Hence, you can build your own unique version of Henry of Skalitz. All actions taken during the adventure will affect Henry’s reputation, which determines how NPCs react to the protagonist.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: Gameplay
According to the developers, the sequel offers an open world twice as big as its predecessor. However, there is no one gigantic map. Instead, we will get two regions to explore. One is the city of Kutná Hora (Kuttenberg) and its neighborhood. The other is a region called Bohemian Paradise. Both should be vibrant and buzzing with life. Players can speak with peasants, visit taverns, or engage in various activities.

Like its predecessor, Deliverance 2 uses a first-person perspective and features brutal, realistic combat. Besides engaging in brutal melee clashes, we can attack enemies from a distance with crossbows and early firearms. As a result, the arsenal will be more variable than in the first game. Players will have a chance to sharpen their skills and test them in fierce medieval battles. Consequently, every player who cherishes historical accuracy should enjoy the sequel.
