Get ready for a true FPS experience: CrossfireX premiere

30 January 2022

Crossfire is one of the most popular FPS titles. With its action-packed multiplayer and intense single-player modes, it amassed thousands of fans and became one of the most successful first-person shooters of all time. As the next installment of the series, CrossfireX, is about to premiere, we’ve gathered everything we know about this title.

Crossfire X release date

Thanks to the extremely popular multiplayer mode, Crossfire managed to gather a large group of fans. The new chapter in the iconic franchise, CrossfireX, will be even bigger and better than its predecessor: Smilegate and Xbox’s combined forces look promising for sure. CrossfireX release date is planned for February 10, 2022. Similar to Halo Infinite, the multiplayer mode will be free to play with a purchasable campaign. Let’s see what is waiting for us!

CrossfireX Multiplayer

What fans are particularly interested in is definitely the multiplayer mode. Those who have played the very first installment know it’s going to be a big deal. It has to live up to the standards of its forerunner and bring in next-gen features.

Multiplayer mode can be roughly compared to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. CrossfireX is going to share some obvious similarities with CS, such as picking one of the opposing sides and completing objectives. So far, we know about a few modes that will go live with the game’s release. Let’s take a look at some of them:

  • Modern Mode: teams have to take control over objectives and maintain their domination,
  • Classic Mode: similar to the iconic CS: GO mode, one of the teams must plant an explosive, and the opposing team has to stop them from doing so,
  • Spectre Mode: an interesting variation of the Classic Mode, where teams are equipped with knives only and can turn invisible if not moving.
  • 30-player mode: two teams fight over five control points, which spawn supply crates to help you throughout the fight.
  • …and more!

The Tactical Growth System

CrossfireX features the Tactical Growth System, thanks to which you can upgrade your character during the match. You might pick up a regeneration shield, health regeneration, or damage boosts. Anything that will make you dominate the battleground. Thanks to the Enhanced Tactical Growth system, players can quickly react to what is happening and respond accordingly. Improvise, adapt, overcome!

Another neat feature we are going to see in CrossfireX is Legendary Mercenaries. They can be described as special forms you might unlock during matches, depending on your kill streak. These mercenaries boast unique abilities, enhanced stats, and badass looks, of course!

A quite interesting aspect is that being the best doesn’t mean you’ll be the only one who unlocks Legendary Mercenaries: in case you die a lot, activating a death streak will grant you access to these mercenaries as well! The process is, of course, slower, but thanks to this solution, everyone will have a chance to change the course of battle. CrossfireX Singleplayer Campaign

We don’t know much about the single-player mode, but what is certain is that the narrative will explore the ongoing conflict between the two factions: Global Risk and Black List. So far, we know about two chapters: Operation Spectre and Catalyst, representing various aspects of the conflict. More operations will be released sometime later, after the official premiere. You’ll be able to play the game on different difficulty levels, so both seasoned and beginner players will have fun with CrossfireX gameplay.

We might be quite certain that the single-player campaign is going to be an exciting one. The developers admitted that they have sought inspiration from works, such as Resident Evil or Metal Gear. Therefore, CrossfireX definitely won’t be an ordinary FPS! The developers want to create memorable characters that will become recognizable even outside of the game’s community. With such an interesting portfolio of bestsellers, we don’t have to worry about CrossfireX’s narrative side.

An Xbox exclusive

The game is going to be an Xbox exclusive first. We can be quite sure that CrossfireX will look spectacular and feel amazing to play, as it’s going to be fully optimized for Xbox Series X|S. This title will feature up to 120 framerate, fast responsiveness, and short load times to fully show off Xbox’s power.

Unfortunately, there are no mentions of the CrossfireX PC release. There’s hope the game will hop on personal computers at some point, as plenty of console exclusives eventually receive their PC ports! For now, let’s patiently wait for the official premiere and practice aim on the side.
