People look for another game key site for different reasons. A key does not activate, or support takes too long to reply. A top-up option is no longer available, or the total at checkout is higher than the price on the listing. Switching is the right moment to learn how to compare game key sites properly, and price is only one part of it.
To compare game key sites, check seven things. Look at supplier competition for each product, the details shown about each supplier and the rules suppliers must follow. Then check whether the final price and fees appear before payment and who handles complaints. Finally, look at support after the purchase and, for mobile games, at what a top-up asks for. The best alternative game key site is the one that passes all seven.
This guide explains each check and shows where to find the answer. It ends with a checklist you can use on any site. The examples come from GAMIVO’s FAQ, Terms and Conditions, Customer Protection Program page and product pages. We read all of them on October 5, 2026. For the full path of a key from supplier to your library, see how game key sites work.
What should you compare when choosing a game key site?
Compare a game key site on what happens before, during and after the purchase, not on a single price. Before the purchase, look at supplier competition and the information shown about each supplier. During it, look at the final price with every fee. After it, look at the complaint procedure, support and, for top-ups, delivery time.
A price is only comparable when the product is the same: the same platform, region and edition. A ranking of named sites goes out of date quickly, because offers, fees and terms change. Criteria do not, so you can apply the seven checks below to any site, including the one you use today.
How many suppliers compete for each product?
A site where several suppliers offer the same product gives you a choice of price and supplier on one page. Competition between suppliers is what pushes the lowest price down. When a product has only one offer, there is nothing to compare it with on that site. The price is simply the price.
GAMIVO describes its model on its own blog: the platform “presents offers from multiple suppliers who compete with prices.” You can see the result on a product page. On October 5, 2026, the GAMIVO listing for ARC Raiders (PC, Steam key, Global, Standard Edition) showed 9 offers. The full list opened with the offer labeled “Lowest offer.”
Can you see who the supplier is before you pay?
A trustworthy game key site shows who supplies each offer before you pay, not after. At a minimum, look for the supplier’s name, a readable track record and a link to the supplier’s own terms. Without these details, two offers at the same price are impossible to tell apart.
On GAMIVO, every offer on a listing displays the supplier’s name, a satisfaction percentage and an order count. Each offer also has a link labeled “Supplier’s Terms of Service.” On October 5, 2026, the first three offers in the full ARC Raiders list showed satisfaction scores between 99.64% and 99.77%.
The supplier’s terms are worth opening, because GAMIVO’s complaint rules refer to them. The details also stay with you after the purchase. According to GAMIVO’s FAQ, your account’s Orders tab shows each order’s status and the supplier you bought from. It also shows the payment method and an invoice, if you requested one.
What rules do suppliers have to follow?
A good game key site publishes the rules its suppliers must follow and says what happens when they break them. Look for these rules in the terms and conditions, not in marketing copy. Rules written into the terms are the ones you can refer to if an order goes wrong.
GAMIVO’s Terms and Conditions list what suppliers must not do. Among other things, a supplier may not offer a product “which was used or activated before.” A supplier also may not make an offer “in which a Product’s description is fraudulent,” or fail to respond to buyers’ complaints. The same section states that, in the case of a violation, GAMIVO reserves the right to block the account.
Supplier accounts do not appear on their own either. GAMIVO’s page for new suppliers lists the first steps. They start with “Fill out the registration form,” followed by “Our team will set up your supplier account.”
Is the final price clear before you pay?
The price that counts is the total at the payment step, not the number on the listing. A site that is clear about money shows taxes and any payment fees before you confirm the order. If two sites seem close, compare their totals for the same product and country. Use the same currency and the same payment method too.
Two things can change the total on GAMIVO. The first is tax. The FAQ states that “every GAMIVO customer is charged the correct VAT value based on their country of residence within the EU.” The second is the payment channel. GAMIVO’s Terms and Conditions explain that some payment channels “may involve payment of commissions or other fees to the payment service providers.” According to the same terms, the payment selection page shows these fees.
Optional extras should be visible too. The same terms say that the product payment page shows the Customer Protection Program price for each product. You join the program by checking a box on that page. For discounts and timing, see our guide on how to save money on PC games. What happens if a key does not work?
A clear complaint procedure is one of the most useful things to check before you switch sites. You want to know who handles a problem first, when the site steps in and what information to send. If a site does not explain this in writing, you will only find out when something goes wrong.
On GAMIVO, the supplier handles a problem with an order first, and GAMIVO can join the case. The FAQ states: “If your issue is handled personally by the Supplier and you cannot reach an agreement, you will have the option to engage us in the dispute. This option is available after 72 hours since opening a complaint.” The FAQ adds that if the supplier does not respond within a reasonable time, GAMIVO takes over the case.
A complaint moves faster when it is complete. GAMIVO’s Terms and Conditions ask for “a detailed description of the problem, any evidence which may serve to prove the problem and the suggested solution satisfactory for the User.” In practice, that means the order number, a screenshot of the activation error and the outcome you expect. The terms also set a time frame: if possible, “within 14 days from the date of delivery of the complaint to GAMIVO.” The supplier’s individual terms of service can state otherwise.
What support can you expect after the purchase?
After-purchase support is worth checking before your first order, not after a problem. Look for a ticket system, stated hours and a clear way to escalate a case with a supplier. A site that publishes these details lets you judge its support in advance.
GAMIVO’s FAQ states that “GAMIVO Customer Service is available 24/7.” Support requests go through a ticket system in the Support section. According to the Customer Protection Program page, the Customer Support Team protects all purchases on GAMIVO.
The optional Customer Protection Program adds more. Its page lists priority support (“All tickets from CPP users go first!”), mediation (“In case of any issue with the supplier, we will maintain the communication with you.”) and priority pre-orders.
How do you compare sites for mobile game top-ups?
For mobile game top-ups, compare three things: what the site asks for, delivery time and server coverage. A top-up goes to an account identifier, such as a player ID or a UID with a server. A top-up site therefore has no reason to ask for your password.
On GAMIVO, the direct top-up page lists the steps. You choose your game, pick the amount and enter the required account details. Then you check the data, select the payment method and receive the top-up directly on your account. For Genshin Impact, the product guide asks for two details. The first is the UID, shown in the down-right corner. The second is the server region, which you choose in the main menu.
The page also states the delivery time: “You can enjoy your top-up within 30 minutes of purchase.” On GAMIVO, many products arrive instantly, and 30 minutes is the upper limit. GAMIVO’s FAQ notes that some direct top-up offers have regional restrictions. It asks you to make sure “the server you play on is on the list of available ones.” If a top-up is late, the FAQ recommends checking the server region and UID you entered. If you spot an error, it recommends creating a support ticket. For a game-specific walkthrough, see GAMIVO’s Genshin Impact top-up guide. A trustworthy site answers before you ask
Every check in this guide has one thing in common: the site writes the answer down before you buy. Some sites publish their rules for suppliers, complaint procedure, fees and support hours. Such a site is one you can compare, and a better alternative than one that does not.
A seven-point checklist before you switch game key sites
- Offers. Does the product page list several offers for the same product, and can you open the full list?
- Supplier. Can you see each supplier’s name, track record and terms before you pay?
- Rules. Do the site’s terms say what suppliers may not offer and what happens if they do?
- Final price. Does the payment step show tax and any payment fees for your country?
- Complaints. Does the site state in writing who handles a complaint first, when it steps in and what you should send?
- Support. Is there a ticket system with stated hours?
- Top-ups. Does a top-up ask only for a player ID or UID and a server? Does the site state a delivery time?
If a site passes all seven, it is a strong alternative, whatever you used before.
How to recognize the best game key sites
The best game key sites make the checklist above easy to complete. The answers sit on the product page, in the FAQ and in the published terms. You can check them before your first order. When you compare two sites, the one that answers more of the seven questions in writing is the better choice. That holds even if another site shows a slightly lower number on one listing.

Frequently asked questions
Choosing and comparing sites
The best alternative game key site is the one that passes the checks you care about most. Look for several suppliers per product, supplier details before payment and written rules for suppliers. Add a clear final price, a written complaint procedure and support after the purchase. Compare these on your current site and on the candidate, not only the price of one game.
Compare game key sites on the same product first: the same platform, region and edition. Then check the number of offers, the supplier details and the final price at the payment step. Finally, check the complaint procedure and support. A site that shows these answers in writing before you pay is easier to compare and easier to trust.
Look for a site that asks only for account identifiers, such as a player ID or a UID and a server. It should also state a delivery time and list the supported servers. On GAMIVO, the direct top-up page states that a top-up arrives “within 30 minutes of purchase.” The Genshin Impact guide asks for the UID and server region.
A trustworthy game key site publishes its rules: terms for suppliers, a complaint procedure and support hours. On GAMIVO, the Terms and Conditions ban offering used or previously activated products. The FAQ explains when GAMIVO joins a dispute, and Customer Service is available 24/7. Check whether a site answers these questions before you buy.
Prices, complaints and support
Not always, because tax and the payment method can change the total. GAMIVO’s FAQ says each customer pays the correct VAT for their country of residence within the EU. The Terms and Conditions add that the payment selection page shows any payment fees. Compare totals at the payment step, not listing prices.
Report the problem through the site’s support section. Include a description, evidence such as a screenshot of the error, and the solution you expect. On GAMIVO, the supplier handles the case first. If you cannot reach an agreement, you can involve GAMIVO in the dispute 72 hours after opening the complaint.
No. According to the program page, the Customer Support Team protects all purchases on GAMIVO. The optional Customer Protection Program adds priority tickets, mediation with the supplier and priority pre-orders.
