You have spoken! The GAMIVO community declared Astro Bot the best video game of 2024. Thank you for all the votes!
Twelve exceptional games competed for the GAMIVO Game of the Year title. Most of them had already won prestigious accolades, including awards at The Game Awards and the Golden Joystick Awards. However, our contest proved that Black Myth Wukong and Astro Bot had a special place in the hearts of GAMIVO users. Their battle was nothing short of epic.
The outstanding action RPG from Game Science took the early lead. After a few days, Astro Bot started the pursuit. When the brave robot finally overtook his mighty rival, he only increased the lead, finishing with over 33% of your votes. Black Myth: Wukong came second with 23.28%. Space Marine 2 placed third, achieving 9.6% of your votes.

Those results show that a platformer game can compete against spectacular adventures of epic proportions. However, it has to be cleverly designed, entertaining, and free of annoying bugs. Astro Bot, with its ever-changing mechanics and funny Easter eggs, certainly meets those conditions. We can only regret that it’s virtually impossible to faithfully port the Team Asobi masterpiece to other platforms because it has been designed to use all the capabilities of PlayStation 5 and the DualSense controller.
Now, we can’t wait to play the games that will fight for the GAMIVO Game of the Year ’25 crown.
