Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions
- Release Date: September 3, 2024
- Platforms: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PC

Some players have expressed regret over the absence of Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy. Now, the favorite sport of all wizards and witches is getting its own title. You can play as characters from books and movies or create unique players. The game offers a solo career that lets your character become a star and maybe even win the Quidditch World Cup. You can try co-op and multiplayer modes if you don’t want to chase the Snitch alone. I’m certain many players will be glad to hear they won’t find any microtransactions in Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.
I believe that the rules of Quidditch are ridiculous, but that doesn’t mean the game can’t give us a lot of fun. Hence, I’m looking forward to hopping on my broomstick and seeing if it’s a funny fantasy sports game for everyone or a mere cash grab aimed at the Wizarding World’s fans.
Age of Mythology: Retold
- Release Date: September 4, 2024
- Platforms: Xbox Series S|X, PC

Age of Mythology, a classic real-time strategy, returns in an enhanced version. I believe that this title doesn’t need an introduction, but maybe some players have missed it in some magic way. Therefore, I recall that AoM is a spin-off of the Age of Empires series. Unlike games from the main line, it offers a purely fictional setting among heroes, monsters, and gods from Norse, Egyptian, and Greek mythologies. Players can lead all playable factions across the 50-mission solo campaign that follows the story of an Atlantean admiral, Arkantos.
This game captures the core RTS elements, such as base building, resource management, and commanding armies. However, it also introduces captivating innovations. Before each mission, players select a major god, and as their civilization progresses, they can choose a minor god. Each deity bestows unique abilities, advantages, and access to special units.
NBA 2K25
- Release Date: September 6, 2024
- Platforms: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PC, Nintendo Switch

There are only a few certain things in life, and getting a new NBA 2K release every year is one of them. It’s an almost complete basketball game that allows fans to be star players or ring-hungry coaches. There’s also the fan-favorite MyTeam mode, the counterpart of Ultimate Team in FIFA/EA FC.
The problem is that the series has reached the point where the developers are afraid to make any significant changes. As a result, every new installment is almost identical to its predecessor. However, some changes are always introduced. In NBA 2K25, players will enjoy a wider range of animations, a new dribble engine, and a new defensive movement system. Moreover, PC players will finally have access to The City, previously available exclusively in next-gen versions of the NBA 2K games.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
- Release Date: September 9, 2024
- Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series S|X, PC

The sequel to the 2011 Space Marine has been postponed several times. Fortunately, it appears that this time, the mighty Adeptus Astartes will finally be able to land and crush Xenos and heretics. The game is set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe; hence, players will be thrown into the middle of a brutal, neverending conflict.
Like the first game, Space Marine 2 is a third-player shooter with hack-and-slash elements. It continues the story of Captain Titus of the Ultramarine’s order. This time, he will have to face swarms of formidable Tyranids. Fortunately, our brave Space Marine is not alone. His fellow Ultramarines Chairon and Gadriel accompany Titus. They can be controlled by AI or other players, so the campaign can be completed cooperatively. Space Marine 2 also offers a multiplayer mode, including competitive matches.
Satisfactory
- Release Date: September 10, 2024
- Platforms: PC

After years in early access, the factory simulator created by Coffee Stain Studios is finally getting its full release. The game is often described as the 3D version of Factorio, which is a great compliment. Also, overwhelmingly positive opinions seem like a universal seal of approval.
In Satisfactory, your task is to build a factory on an alien planet. This mission requires more than just managing skills. You will explore the open world, looking for the resources necessary for development and fighting hostile aliens that threaten your factory. You can try to do it alone or join forces with other players, playing cooperatively.
Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics
- Release Date: September 12, 2024
- Platforms: PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch

It’s a real threat to all fighting game fans. Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics includes seven titles released from 1993 to 2000:
- The Punisher
- X-Men: Children of the Atom
- Marvel Super Heroes
- X-Men vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes
- Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
As you can see, there are some real gems on the list. For instance, outstanding beat ’em up The Punisher will finally be available outside the arcade and Sega Genesis.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown
- Release Date: September 12, 2024
- Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series S|X, PC

The Test Drive series finally awakens from its decade-long slumber. Its new installment takes players to Hong Kong Island, faithfully recreated at a 1:1 scale. Racing enthusiasts can select from tons of cars from iconic manufacturers, such as Lamborghini, Porsche, and Aston Martin.
Racing is the essence of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, but the social features are also vital parts of the game. Therefore, you will create an avatar to meet and interact with other players.
Funko Fusion
- Release Date: September 13, 2024
- Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series S|X, PC

Funko Fusion is a third-person action-adventure game based on Funko Pop figurines. It will offer over 60 unique characters from 20 franchises, including Back to the Future, Jurrasic World, Battlestar Galactica, and Masters of the Universe. The game offers an original story, but apparently, on the adventure, players will also recreate memorable moments from movies and TV shows.
I must admit that the concept seems quite odd. Nonetheless, a racing game based on the Hot Wheels toy line was a blast, so maybe the title featuring well-known characters with oversized heads can recreate its success. We will get Funco Fusion for PC and next-gen consoles in September. PS4 and Switch versions of the game will come out on November 15, 2024.
Final Fantasy XVI
- Release Date: September 17, 2024
- Platforms: PC

This action role-playing game came out last year for PlayStation 5 and was praised by both players and critics. In September, PC players will gain a chance to find out whether these praises were fully justified.
The game follows Clive Rosfield, a warrior on a quest for revenge after a tragic event involving his brother Joshua. Players experience a compelling story filled with political intrigue, epic battles, and character development. Unlike many Final Fantasy games, FFXVI features real-time combat, allowing players to engage in fast-paced battles using a combination of melee attacks, magic, and powerful Eikon abilities.
Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars – Reforged
- Release Date: September 19, 2024
- Platforms: PC

Another classic that will get a second life. Or maybe the third, as we already obtained Broken Sword – Director’s Cut in 2010. The Reforged version enhances the beloved point-and-click adventure game that follows George Stobbard and Nico Collard as they try to resolve a mystery involving the Knights Templar.
Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars – Reforged offers 4K resolution, among other improvements. I don’t know if players heaving the Director’s Cut edition should feel excited about another remaster. However, it appears as the perfect starting point for all the newcomers who can experience the original adventure before the premiere of the sixth installment, Broken Sword: Parzival’s Stone.
God of War Ragnarök
- Release Date: September 19, 2024
- Platforms: PC

An action-adventure hit from Santa Monica Studio is another highly-anticipated PC port of a Sony exclusive that will come out this September. Kratos and Atreus continue their epic journey in the world of Norse gods.
God of War Ragnarök follows its predecessor’s footsteps, so players who have played the previous game shouldn’t be surprised. However, there are some fresh features, including new abilities for both characters. It’s also noteworthy that the PC version includes the Valhalla DLC, which adds roguelite mechanics.
Frostpunk 2
- Release Date: September 19, 2024
- Platforms: macOS, PC, PS5, Xbox Series S|X

The first Frostpunk, a brilliant combination of city-builder and survival game, was a huge success. Initially, 11 Bit Studio planned to release the sequel in July, but the premiere was postponed until September. As a result, the game must fight for players’ time, attention, and money with incredibly intense competition.
The game is set 30 years after the first Frostpunk. The Great Storm is just a memory, but society stands before new challenges. Players assume the role of the Steward, the leader of the city. You will have to make tough decisions and carefully maneuver between many factions trying to shape the future of your metropolis.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns
- Release Date: September 24, 2024
- Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series S|X, PC

Khaos Reigns is an expansion that adds a new chapter to the story presented in MK1. It will revolve around Havik and the Khaos Realm, which was teased in the base game’s post-credit scene. Furthermore, DLC adds six new warriors to the roster:
- Cyrax
- Sektor
- Noob Saibot
- Conan the Barbarian
- Ghostface (Scream)
- T-1000 (Terminator)
The returning MK characters will be available from day one, while the guest warriors will be released later. Besides the paid content, the extension will bring some free content, including the return of long-absent finisher: Animalities.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
- Release Date: September 26, 2024
- Platforms: Nintendo Switch

Echoes of Wisdom is the first game in the series’ main timeline where you actually play as Zelda. In this title, the roles have been reverted, and the princess has to save Link after his disappearance into the Still World. The stakes are even higher as the fate of the whole Hyrule is in danger.
Princess Zelda will have some pretty neat tricks up her sleeves. For instance, she can create echoes of objects and monsters. It seems like a way to creatively solve the puzzles blocking Zelda’s way.
EA Sports FC 25
- Release Date: September 27, 2024
- Platforms: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PC, Nintendo Switch

When the EA Sports FC series debuted, some predicted that the FIFA successor would change its model and update one game for a long time instead of releasing a new one annually. The upcoming release of EA Sports FC 25 proves that EA Sports believes that you shouldn’t interfere with a winning line-up.
Like 2K and its NBA game, EA Sports doesn’t try to revolutionize its bestselling franchise. However, there are some interesting novelties in this year’s installment. Particularly, 5v5 Rush matches seem interesting as 5-a-side squads competing on a smaller pitch can bring back vibes of indoor games that have been absent from the series since FIFA 98.
Starfield: Shattered Space
- Release Date: September 30, 2024
- Platforms: Xbox Series S|X, PC

Shattered Space is the first big Starfield expansion. The DLC’s plot centers around House Va’Ruun and a mysterious being called The Great Serpent. Besides the new story arc, Shattered Space provides new enemies, bosses, weapons, gear, and uncharted locations to explore, including planet Va’Ruun’kai.
I suppose that Shattered Space won’t make Starfield a groundbreaking hit, for which Bethesda and the players counted. However, it should be a fun addition for everyone who has enjoyed the game despite its flaws.
